The kit computer that launched a company :
February 1982, the first Microbee computer was launched in kit form. Announced in Your Computer Magazine, the feature included a 32 page lift out section detailing the specifications, circuit diagrams, basic programs and construction.

The kit came with Basic (programming language) installed in ROM, and a machine language monitor, 16k of battery backed RAM (keeping programs in memory even when the power was off), program storage by cassette tape, and used a monochrome monitor or modified television for display.
The CPU (a Zilog Z80) ran at 2Mhz

The case for the computer had a metal base and colored fiberglass top shell.

Within months of release, the kit became a fully manufactured computer with a number of design upgrades, including am injection molded case, faster CPU, expansion options, color video and so on.

Microbee Technology is continuing work on our new kit computer
(the Classic-Plus) and will have more details on the new kit coming up soon.

Have a #retrogaming  system and want VGA output?
Solution: Microbee's #vga  video converter kit.

As seen in Silicon Chip Magazine, and also Everyday Practical Electronics (UK), the Microbee VGA video converter takes RGB color input from older machines such as the Microbee, Commodore Amiga, C128, Tandy CoCo3, Apple IIgs, Amstrad CPC Atari 520STE
and allows you to see the output on a regular VGA monitor.

The output is nicely scaled (default output is 1024 x 768) and scan rate converted (from 15Khz input to VGA frequencies).  The converter has digital (CGA standard TTL Level RGB + Intensity signals - Microbee, IBM CGA, C128 ) and analogue (Amiga, Atari 520ST, Apple IIgs) modes.

Kits in stock now : www.microbeetechnology.com.au
Cable kits available for Amiga (23 Pin to 9 pin) and COCO-3 (10 way header to DB9).
