They were fantastic - we've bought 3 cars from them. John Martinez is a very helpful salesperson - I hesitate to say "sales" because that conjures up bad images, he's not what you think of for car sales, he listens to what you want and gives you what you ask for. He's not pushy and he's given us very fair prices. Our most recent purchase really deserves a special mention, because we got their 3 month/3000 miles warranty that covers certain things, but something that wasn't covered under that went out in that time frame. We expected to pay for it, but they offered to split the cost with us because it was so soon. That's not something you hear about a dealership doing everyday! We will continue to buy our cars from them even though we have since moved over 2 hours away.

I bought my 2007 Prius nearly seven years ago at this store and I love my car and the service. This is the only place I bring my car for any maintenance and repairs and have always been pleased with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. They explain very clearly what needs to be done and I never feel that I am being pressured to spend money on anything unnecessary. Of course it is a wonderful car and I have needed only a few things outside of oil changes but this is the place I will continue to go. Another upside is that their waiting room is very comfortable with television and fresh baked cookies.

I have leased two cars from T of P and bought a truck from T of P. We always work with Lou. Always have had a good experience. Service department has been great. Very little waiting. Plus Toyota makes a good product so very low maintenance costs. I am about to lease my third car from them.

Simple as this: We found a car, offered our lowest price and they accepted right away. It was 10pm and they let us take the car home over night so we could have an independent inspection done on it the next day. MATT (the manager) said they won't fix every little detail but if there is an oil leak - they would repair that before we signed the paperwork. Guess what - there most certainly was an oil leak - amongst other things (brake light out, battery about to die, and power steering fluid leaking) Went back to the dealership - Our sales guy "Justin" went to talk to the manager. MATT was off that day..Justin spoke to the used car sales manager. Justin came back to us and said "We'll take $400 off". No...that's not what we were told last night. No, we will not accept $400 off - fix the problem. Justin went back to the manager and the manager came out this time. He sat down with his arms crossed and said" Best we can do - $400 off the price". He DIDN'T say - "Hey guys, really sorry that there was an issue that our mechanics missed. We'll fix it up for you tomorrow and have it ready to drive home tomorrow night" Nope, the manager proceeded to tell us how they do not invest in their used cars because they would be spending too much money, he said we got an inspection from a shady company, he told us how long he's worked there, blah..blah..blah We reminded him that we were told LAST NIGHT by the manager (MATT) that any oil leak would be fixed. Our sales guy, Justin, said that he FORGOT to mention that to the used car sales manager. The manager said "Fine, we'll replace the valve covers and keep you at the original price that we agreed on" We said - we don't want you to just "replace the valve covers - we want you to fix the problem..like we were assured would be done, if there was a leak" End result, of a long argument back & forth, manager said "I've had enough" and pushed our independent inspection back at us and walked away. Not only did they not "make the sale" but they lost customers - for life. Studies show that customers become loyal to their dealership..and in the age of social media..I cannot believe that they treated us like that. Now, we will not buy from them, our co-workers will not buy from them, our social media contacts will be wary of them - for what? The managers ego? The cost of "doing it right"?

Response from the owner - a year ago
We’re sorry you had a bad experience at our dealership. It is our goal to sell vehicles and provide the highest levels of customer service. We know that is what creates long-term customer loyalty. Unfortunately, the vehicle that you were interested in came back with more problems than we were aware of or that we could pay for without raising the cost of the car. It’s difficult to anticipate these costs when an outside repair facility is recommending the work. I hope you understand our position. Again, we are sorry that you were not able to purchase the vehicle for the price you wanted. Thank you.

I wouldn't buy my Toyota any place else. Joe and Mike make the experience fun easy and quick. I appreciate their kindness and the fact that they don't try to push me or force me into a discussion that I didn't make on my own. Being a sales person myself I appreciate everything they do to make the experience easy, quick and mine. Thank you.

Customer service was the best that I have ever had buying or even looking at a car to buy. We weren't pressured to go above our budget. We were only showed cars that were in our budget and the ones that had what we needed in a car. Definitely will be back to buy our next car.

After moving into the area I took my car into Toyota of Puyallup and was completely disappointed in service, price and customer service. I had been going to a dealership in Illinois since I bought my car in 2010 and they were always super impressive, competitive on price (or better), and quick! First, you have to have an appointment here or plan on waiting forever. Second, the customer service people were rude. Well, one lady was very nice in explaining why my oil change was going to be $50!! (In Illinois at the dealership it was ALWAYS about $30.) The guy next to her however, kept piping in over and over rudely about how I was wrong, how my Illinois dealership was using cheap oil and this dealership NEVER uses that oil, how my warranty for sure was up on my seatbelts...over and over and over. I felt bad for the poor lady that has to sit next to him all day. Third, their pricing was OUTRAGEOUS. Like I said above, they seriously wanted $50 for an oil change and after I told them that was crazy high, the guy over the wall went on and on about how they're way cheaper than anywhere else. MY EYE! Later, I called to get a quote on a 90k mileage tune up and it was DOUBLE....yes DOUBLE what Titus Will was in Tacoma. Fourth, they tried to get me to do all these add-ons telling me this was dirty and that needed to be replaced. I think they tried to upsell me on atleast three things. I opted no and I'm glad I did because I think they were not being completely honest. If you haven't already noticed, I was not impressed and have not returned here. I prefer to make the extra drive to Titus WIl where their prices are actually reasonable and I feel like they're being honest with me.

Bought a new Toyota Camry Hybrid car here a couple years ago. Was not happy about the promise for a tax credit which was not true. When I called to resolve the issue was basically told they couldn't do anything. A company that truly cares about their clients would've correct the wrong. I've since bought a couple Toyota's and have no desire to go back to Toyota of Puyallup.
