This place was really a present surprise, for years I always passed by this place without really acknowledging it. Luckily I came across the restaurant on Google Maps, instead I would try it the next day. When I went there and looked at the menu and saw the variety of food that they had from breakfast - dinner, I knew that I would really love this place and the prices were pretty darn good. The ambience in the places actually outstanding for a business meeting, there were plenty of other people in there and you can hardly hear any noise and they also have a bar that you can order any alcoholic beverage that suited you. I really recommend this place to people ranging from businessman to the average runner that's just finish running Memorial Park for Allen Parkway for the variety and the food and the outstanding prices and the kindness of the staff members there. Try anything and I believe that you be satisfied.

three of us went to breakfast and when we received our plates they were all barely warm. I took mine back to be heated, but when it was brought out only half the food was warm; the hash brown were cold and greasy. I am very disappointed with the quality of food we were served today. I have been here several times and it seems to be hit or miss, today was a big fat miss.

Black Walnut Cafe is a place with a lot of variety done pretty well. Their coffee is pretty decent, they have a good variety of desserts, and they serve breakfast until 11a. Overall, I consider it a handy place to go when you don't know what you want. It's also a nice location, as it's very near the Beer Can House and the Bayou Bend Collection. Have a nice time out!

In from out of town and relied on the google reviews when decided lunch at Black Walnut over others in the area. That doesn't always work, but it did this time. The portions for myself and family were plenty, and the food was well prepared and tasted great. Had the spicy lobster mac which I highly recommend. Also, cool to see Mr. Carl Lewis sitting a few tables over.

Always been good, but my first breakfast there was not very hot, and service was ok. Nothing to write home about for breakfast

Really enjoyed this place. Went there for breakfast. They do breakfast very well. You can go in for either counter service or regular table service. They have a wide variety of menu items that are amazing. I really enjoyed the pancakes that I had there. They were light, fluffy, and tastes just like you would make at home. I loved the coffee. I thought it was nice how they heated the mug before they gave you the mug. This is a nice touch that many coffee houses totally miss. I went there for a weekday breakfast and we weren't rushed at all. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and look forward it trying it for other meals.
