Tohoku University is currently accepting applications for accommodation specifically designed for university students. The properties are fully furnished and provide shared spaces so that students can get to know one another. In October, the university will open its newest dormitory at Aobayama which will accommodate 752 students in single rooms.

High school students from China’s Henan province got a close up look at the handwritten notes of renowned Chinese writer Lu Xun during a visit to the Tohoku University Archives recently. The group were in Sendai as part of a youth exchange programme sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.

The 2018 Tohoku University Fund awards for outstanding extracurricular activities were given out at Hagi Hall on June 27. The award of 50,000 yen is given annually to clubs and circles who have achieved excellent results or contributed meaningfully to local communities. Twenty-seven groups received the award this year. Congratulations!
