The mole enchiladas were mediocre. They taste like something out of a lunch cafeteria. The refried beans were clearly from a can. The rice was forgettable. Service was slow even on a slow night but was very friendly. The chips and salsa were very good but only arrived to the table 8 minutes after we say down and ordered drinks. The live music is crazy loud, you can't even talk. If you have to go here, stick to the drinks, and the chips and salsa.

The staff was very attentive; of course it's easier to be attentive when there's hardly anyone in the place (and I suspect the few other patrons present were unwitting out-of-towners). The food was not horrible but it certainly was not good, and it a town filled with Mexican and Tex-Mex joints better choices are aplenty. In sum: My chicken enchiladas lacked flavor and seasoning, the guacamole was bland and the anemic salsa was slightly less bland. The chips resemble the generic kind you might find at H.E.B. The rice merely masquerades as Mexican rice. Basically, take Mexican food and gringo it to death, and that's what you get at El Sol y La Luna.

Really good happy hour specials including drinks and apps. Right in the heart of downtown so there's plenty of people watching to do. Every now and then you can catch some fun local bands playing while you get a tasty margarita!

The food here is OK, but a little pricey, even at happy hour. The real draw for me is their amazing mariachi band.

El Sol used to be a five star restaurant. I've been there twice in the last four weeks. My food today was not hot and didn't taste all that great. I ate migas. My friend had fajitas and she said they had no flavor. I don't know what has happened to this once great restaurant but I hope they can get their act together and start serving excellent food again. When they were located on S. Congress you usually had to wait for a table. Now, well now, there are few customers.

Had my first Michelata here (with Dos Equis amber), very enjoyable. Also first Migas -- what a great breakfast! The tilapia ceviche was excellent, good texture, just a little tart from the citrus, and a pleasant slight sweetness. Friendly staff made it a great way to start the day. I wish I had this restaurant near my home town.

My friends and I had lunch just now at this location. It was not bad for the amount of food and price that they paid. They had the healthy plate, quesadillas and a breakfast taco. The service was good as well.

Lackluster place for food - but the drinks are pretty decent. Follows the trend of 6th street restaurants - mediocre food with a pretty good atmosphere.
