I really like this place, but in all honesty, its good for DESSERTS only, I wouldn't recommend that you come for dinner. Its the perfect place to take a date that you don't want to end...its intimate, relaxed, lighting is low, and smells of warm delicious chocolate. A great place to spend intimate time, and/or get to know a person. Also great to take the kids for dessert as a reward, or some one on one time. Enjoy

This place is a joke. It is just a tourist trap that is overpriced and has lame food. My friends, our kids and I ordered burgers, a salad, a sandwich and kids' meals (mac and cheese, pizza, and pasta). The food was extremely bland, overpriced, and not generous in size. I would rather have purchased a frozen meal from Trader Joe's, which would have tasted better and been about a quarter of the cost. You would think the desserts would at least have been amazing since the restaurant specializes in chocolate, but they were ordinary and expensive. The waitress was nice, but the service was slow. We waited almost 40 minutes between ordering and getting our lunch. Wouldn't go back.

The place is fun for the kids and the food is good. However, last year and this year, (today) almost to the day, I called and made a reservation. I figured how busy can they be on a Tuesday, December 29th...I called around 1pm and the earliest they could seat us was 3pm....So we go back to the condo and wait...the kids really wanted to we wait. Upon arriving at 3pm the place was almost empty!!! Same as last year!!! Now my son-in-Law has to drive home during rush hour (add an Extra 1/2 hour to his 1 hour drive). Guess where we wont be going next year...Max Brenner's.

Very disappointing. The food is very pricey, we waited a long time for the food and it was blah. I should have gone to a diner and saved my time and money. My veggie burger was a frozen Dr. Praeger patty; not worth $13.75. My husband ordered a Waffle cheese steak sandwich and fries. There was enough meat for half of a sandwich and we couldn't taste the chili cocoa seasoning on the fries. The kids meals are small, don't come with a drink or side and cost $9. We ordered the Maxʼs Palace Famous Chocolate Mess Party dessert and it was not worth the calories. Average chocolate cake with a little vanilla ice cream, a lot of whipped cream and some toppings at a whopping $12.75.

Had the best meal of my life here. Got bacon disco waffle fries, a flatbread pizza, and fondue and split it all with my girlfriend. Really filling, not pricey at all, and absolutely great experience. We really felt so comfortable there. Also the waiters are so relaxed and make you feel really happy to be there. They have no problem suggesting anything if it's your first time. Doesn't hurt it's beautiful inside. Love this place. Definitely my favorite restaurant of all time.

Me and my girlfriend went here on a date and we were blown away. We tried one of their Italian hot chocolates, we both split it and it was awesome. Great ambiance, food and service, what else you can ask for.

Amazing food and drinks, great staff, however a little on the pricy side. It's called "Chocolate with the bald man" and lives up to its reputation. It's a great experience and if you can afford it and don't mind driving to center city its worth the money.
