I think there's a lot of complicated issues at stake in outing almost anyone - except those politicians who make a habit of pushing "anti-homosexual agendas" and turn out to be closeted homosexuals, those should be outed as a matter of truth in advertising & hypocrisy in politics. But, the very notion that someone needs to be outed, of course, reinforces the idea that there's something shameful or worthy of being kept secret about homosexuality, and that is not ok with me.
On the one hand, I think people should be able to hide or reveal their sexual orientation as they choose. On the other hand, it would certainly become easier for the LGBTQ communities if more people were open, and the default assumption wasn't that everyone was heterosexual and/or gender conforming - but who am I to decide that a particular person should be outed because it would help someone?
Thanks for all the interesting comments.
