Hi Farhad,
I could be interested, you can view my CV and contact details at http://rickburgess.me

Anyone know a good London-based programmer (ideally with a gooddeal of experience coding in PHP, Python or Ruby) interested in joining and working with a start-up? Please get them in touch with me

Hi +Rick Burgess, thanks for getting in touch. I just had a look at your CV, and you do seem to have quite a  few of the skills I'm looking for. Would you be available to chat on the phone sometime this week?

Fantastic Burrito place just down the street from out offices. During my meat eating days I loved the pulled-pork and chorizo.

Their veggie burritos are okay but quite soggy.

Amazing selection of beer at really good prices, terrible bar design which has the bartenders dancing around each other fighting to get to the pumps.

nice outside space when its sunny. Get there early, it gets packed.

Brick Lane Coffee

My favourite coffee spot since moving to brick lane, friendly staff and amazing coffee.

Beware of the pound coins stuck to the floor and bar, they will make you look like a fool.

Fantastic table tennis venue if a little bit pricey at peak times. Lots of high quality tables and if you can organise a group tournament they can provide a referee to keep score and keep things fair.

Sway Bar

A good night out always seems to end at Sway. Cheesy dance floor and cheap drinks are always a recipe for good times. Bouncers can be a little bit harsh but other than that service is okay.

Story
Tagline
Consultant for FreshNetworks finding creative technical solutions for our clients
Introduction
Generally an awesome guy.

Okay, so the first thing most people notice about me is my weird accent. I was born in Cambridge but moved to Ontario, Canada just after my first birthday. When I was 7 I moved to New Youk where I spent 3 years before moving back to the UK (hampshire) aged 10.

I have been working (playing) on the web for I guess around 10 years although my first websites tended to be about rollerblading or Soldier of Fortune II so not really C.V worthy.

I attended Bournemouth University for just under a year before getting a job offer at a local Web Dev business and I decided that I could learn more from the team there than I could on a less than ideal university course.

I worked with Moore-Wilson for 5 years moving up from junior dev to senior dev (PHP) and then over to account manager for their largest client. I then felt I needed to spend some time in the "Big Smoke" so headed over to join the excellent team at FreshNetworks where I have been helping our clients roll out creative technical solutions to solve their problems or simply to deliver a valuable campaign.

In my spare time I love hacking about on various projects to keep my coding abilities up to scratch and really enjoy testing out new tools, API and technologies.

My most recent hack was a Node.JS app built to handle the and process the Twitter firehose.

I went here for a work stag do. Its a fantastic venue for some light (sausage based) food and some huge two pint steins. All the waitresses are friendly and wearing traditional Bavarian outfits. well worth a trip out. Once you have had your fill I recommend heading across the road to the secret cocktail bar to end the night in style.

Get here early for a fantastic morning pick me up and healthy breakfast granola. There can be pretty huge queues so make sure you aren't in too much of a hurry,

Fantastic pub with a huge selection of beers. On a sunny evening you can enjoy the weather outside and still get epically fast service inside. I highly recommend the Bernards Dark as a lighter alternative to Guinness.

I went with a group of friends on one of the museums late nights where everything is open until 10pm with a generous helping of beer. Its great to explore the wonders of modern history without the screaming children. Rumors are the dating events are pretty good to find a geeky partner in crime, but I couldn't possibly comment.

Poppies is the best Fish & Chips in east London, you can get loads of sustainably caught fish in addition to the standard Cod. Its not the cheapest place in town but make a change from the traditional brick lane curries. Aim for a Wednesday or Thursday to avoid the long queues and order a cone for some pre-pub grub.
