BY. FAR. THE. WORST. Here's the the thing: I've never written a bad online review for a restaurant before. I usually just never go there again and share my honest opinion about the place to anyone who asks. But in this case, since I'm in DC, I felt it was my civic duty to warn anyone considering eating here against what is guaranteed to be one of the worst dining experiences of your entire life. Bumbling staff, aggressive managers, ridiculous prices and terrible, nay, revolting food are just the tip of the iceberg. The 'Spicy Beef' in your burrito? Imagine Taco Bell's taco meat mixed with fur and bacon grease. That weird taste in their 'Quesadilla'? Mystery sauce, whose origins are most likely biological in nature, judging by the taste. The child's enchilada? Burnt to a crisp as though it had been prepared by the Sun itself. Now let's get to the good part---their 'Texas-Sized' draft beer. No prices on the menu, but when the bill arrived (mercifully), my 22oz Dos Equis rang in at $12. Why you ask? I was told that the first 16oz are $7, but when you agree to have it 'Texas-Sized,' you get an additional 6oz... for $5 more. I'll let you do the math on that one. I attempted to explain the absurdity of this to the manager, who then pointed to the 'Texas-Sized' $5 upcharge on the menu... in the margarita section. Bottom line: Don't go here. Go anywhere else. Or just suffer through the hunger until you're far, far away from this unholy place. You will thank me. Because the only thing 'Texas-Sized' about Austin Grill is the hole it will leave in your wallet---and your faith in humanity.

Good food. Good prices. Good brunch on weekends. Recommend to try at least once.

Upon entering the restaurant, my dining companion commented that there was no strong food smell, which surprised her. Once we were seated we could smell the food at nearby tables; so don't be alarmed if you take a big whiff of nothingness as you enter. Based on other reviews, which we read AFTER being seated, our expectations were rather low. Our waiter, Ed, was quite personable. For me, he turned an average lunch into an enjoyable lunch. Although he was pushing the bottomless mimosas hard (but in a funny way), we settled for soda and juice. Chips and salsa were good. The chips had no flavor but the salsa more than made up for it. We ordered four tacos and a quesadilla from the kids menu. There was a small misunderstanding with our tacos, but Ed and Justin, a manager, quickly resolved the minor issue. Both Ed and Justin were attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. The shrimp tacos were good. We had shrimp, spicy beef, steak, and chicken. Out of the four, the steak was our least favorite. My companion remarked that it could've been served at a hotter temperature. This meal exceeded our expectations and for s brief moment I felt like I were actually dining in an Austin texmex spot.

Absolutely horrible. In my opinion, this place only survives on tourists who don't know any better. Service is horrible -- we had to ask the bus boy for more chips because our waitress disappeared (I generally give the benefit of the doubt but she wasn't waiting on other tables as the place was empty). She messed up our order. The margaritas are pure sugar; I don't think there was an ounce of tequila. Took forever to get our check and to pay, but once she brought back the charge slip, she hovered waiting for her tip. We even saw a large group walk in and then leave after not getting any service. And the bathrooms are disgusting.

My friend loves this place and I just cant understand why. But we end up meeting here regularly (even I will admit has a good location) so I've learned: stick with salad. It reminds me of what might pass as Tex Mex in a foreign country.

Service was great, however, that's about all I'd complimentary at this place. I feel awful after eating here. I got the burrito bowl and they covered the entire plate with this god awful cheese you'd see on like stadium nachos. The beef was really greasy as well. My coworkers didn't enjoy their dishes either. I'd go to Chipotle in a heartbeat before going here.

The food was ok. My wife and children didn't like their meal, so they did not charged us. Bottom line the service is good but the food is just ok.

The food was decent (I had the Beef Saltato and it had wonderful flavor but it wasn't very hot). The service was alright. Over all not a terrible Resturant, but not my first choice.
