Dear friends at Google,

There's been some grumbling from some quarters about your new "Search Plus Your World" feature. People say that you've favoured Google+ social graph and interest graph data over data from e.g. Twitter or Facebook.

I'd love to see what I can do to help.

My name's Evan. I run a (comparatively tiny!) social network called Identi.ca. My company also makes Open Source software, StatusNet, that anyone can use to set up a social networking site that can connect with other such sites on the Web. We provide a hosting service at status.net that lets people set up public or private networks with our software.

By default, the data in our public networks is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. Pretty much the most liberal data license imaginable -- "Just attribute me."

We'd be happy to participate in whatever data feeds you need to let our users participate in "Search Plus Your World", too. No charge to you.

When you've got that mechanism figured out, let me know. We'd love to be part of it.

Update: I've been pointed to http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/socialData/home.html as a good starting place. I'm going to get our feed there first. Thanks for the suggestion, folks.
