Last night, thirteen students enrolled in a manufacturing processes course from Harper College in Palatine, IL paid a visit to the TRUMPF Smart Factory. The group received a tour of the new building, saw machines in action and learned about the future of manufacturing, Industry 4.0.

We will be showing our power tools in booth 927 at METALCON today through Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

METALCON is the one event that attracts the most metal practitioners in the industry-from architects and roofers to engineers and fabricators.

TRUMPF has acquired an 85-percent stake in Access Laser Co. Headquartered near Seattle – in Everett, Washington – the company produces high-precision, low-power CO2 lasers that are notably used to fabricate microchips in EUV lithography.

If a metal fabricator wants to reduce its cost per part, it should look at automation. Attendees of The FABRICATOR's Technology Summit got to see this in action during seven tours spread over Oct. 3-4 in Cleveland.

One of the tours took place at American Engineering and Manufacturing (AEM) in North Canton, Ohio. Attendees learned that automating their TRUMPF products helped make AEM more competitive.

Fact Friday: Over 100 people including seven local schools attended Manufacturing Day at TRUMPF Inc. Attendees were treated to a brief presentation on the TRUMPF organization, a facility tour and machine demonstrations.

Manufacturing Day is an annual celebration of modern manufacturing during which manufacturers invite their communities — including students, educators, businesspeople, media, and politicians — to their facilities in a collective effort to educate visitors about manufacturing career opportunities and improve public perceptions of manufacturing.
