Best bar in LA as far as drinks go. I always feel cool entering this place. When I take people here they always love the hidden entrance aspect of it. That's not what makes this place great though. They have the best bartenders in all of LA. Just watching them make specialty cocktails is fun. It is expensive but you have to pay if you want the best cocktails in the city.

Love the fact it's so hidden away in the backroom. The cocktails are professionally prepared with hand crafted chunks of ice. The only problem is that this should really be a bigger bar because there are just not enough tables so unless you are prepared to wait you must go early and during week days.

It's a neat bar on skid row. Bar service is a little slow, and the speakeasy in the back isn't exactly quiet. Nonetheless cool decor and a good spot if you're looking for after-dinner drinks.

Well made drinks, speakeasy style, but rather slow service.

This is a fun place! Small but very cozy, dimly lit, with live music, and amazing drinks. Loved to just hang out her with friends. The atmosphere is well worth a night out.

The waitress were rude. A good friend of mine had a drink spilled on by the waitress. The waitress did not once apologize to her. She ran to tell staff so they could clean up the broken glass. My wife told the floor manager about the spill drink and the manager just answered " Iam suprise its the only drink that was spilled". Honestly the place is cool but the customer servive sucks. The waitress are very rude.

Anachronistic but much in vogue this speakeasy is the quintessential cocktail bar. The Varnish exudes exclusivity as it is located behind a non-descriptive door at the back of Cole's Restaurant (once you enter Cole's, proceed to the back). Although the space is small, it feels cozy and intimate. By simply entering this space, you feel like if you are drinking in secret and yet exclusively. The drinks are elegant; they are well-crafted - they are the celebrity. Forget about people watching, it is all about the cocktail. Best of all you know this is a serious cocktail making place when you request a non-chic drink and they know how to make it - and make it well. Added bonus when they give you the wink and the nod, because they know you know and you know they know.

Great customer service, ultimate express wash always makes my car like new, detail service could have been a little more diligent, but friendly staff makes up for it. Nice waiting area. Amazing.
