Westbourne By-Election - One Week To Go

Lots of people out on the streets, just down the road from us in Westbourne. Labour volunteers have been busy spreading the message with over 800 residents pledging to vote for Nigel Jenner on the 22nd December.

There's still plenty to do though, if we're to make sure that Westbourne elects a Labour councillor. There are still lots of locals to meet and a strong push might just help the stop the Greens converting those prospective Labour voters.

To make sure that we get out our vote, we will need lots of help on polling day on 22nd December.

Please contact the campaign team, if you are available.
Even a couple of hours would make a difference.

West Sussex Bus Consultation

West Sussex County Council is holding another consultation about their support for bus services. This consultation relates to the third phase. The decision and implementation of this phase will take place in 2012/13. These changes are likely to affect a lot of bus services in our area, including:

Service 8/8A: Worthing to South Ferring
Service 16: Lancing to Tarring
Service 23: Crawley to Worthing
Service 69: Alfold to Worthing
Service 84: Worthing to Chichester
Service 106: Worthing to Henfield
Service 108: Worthing to Horsham
Service 109: Lancing to Horsham

Buses are a lifeline for older people and younger people. Those in work and those who need to get to the doctor, or to the shops. In the recent Cokeham by-election, bus cuts were a big issue on the doorstep.

Please take part in this consultation and let the county council know that we all need these services.

Wednesday 17th January, 2012, is the last day for submissions to the West Sussex Bus Consultation.

East Worthing and Shoreham Constituency Labour Party
East Worthing and Shoreham is a Parliamentary Constituency in West Sussex. East Worthing and Shoreham (EWAS for short) consists mainly of Adur District Council, but also serves a small eastern portion of Worthing Borough Council (the wards of Broadwater, Gaisford, Offington, and Selden). The constituency of East Worthing and Shoreham was created in 1997, before which the Shoreham part of EWAS was in the Shoreham Constituency, and the East Worthing portion was part of the Worthing seat. Prior to that, the Shoreham portion was part of the Arundel and Shoreham seat.
