Yes. I call it, "finding your creative capacity frame and scale."
Just the right difficulty can lead to huge production, just the right abstraction can lead to huge breakthroughs.
It's an instinct, a really, really, really smart one that doesn't frankly require logic as a tool or a starting point for that matter.
You gotta play with it quite differently than you would, say, a baby or an animal.
However, forcing is the wrong approach entirely. It's about as good for your creativity as forcing bowel movement for digestive health.
Challenge it, encourage it, bargain a la Faustian with it - but unless something really serious, like personal safety is on the line, don't force it. Ever.
