If you are a cross Social Media user, I don't even know if that is the right phraseology and do try and go easy on me if it isn't.  All of that to say -  please share my Facebook page.  Thanks for your help and look for some pretty rad stuff coming in the first quarter of the New Year!

Aloha!

Sweet, would I be able to meet with you over the next couple weeks to get some questions worked out? If you dig cervical, I will come correct, which I am already indebted to you anyway, so this would make a great start=]

One of the greatest moments in my life was watching "where the Trail Ends" with my Mom and Dad, though I cannot even begin to come close to the action that I saw on the screen, I think my parents finally got to understand that sometimes the conventional world is best left to conventional people and that there is much joy and much beauty to be found by those willing to go outside of what is considered normal. I want to thank all the pro riders for being rad and literally having my mom gasping in amazement and to #contour for being the camera of choice for the film=] Aloha and if you dig the mountain bike scene - #dirtragmagazine, it doesnt get any more ninja=]

11 out of 13, you should all be able to beat that=]

Science in the Public Mind

Via +Sarah Flanagan on Twitter: http://www.pewresearch.org/quiz/science-knowledge/

I got 13 out of 13 which is apparently "better than 93% of the public and the same as 7%".  I'm going to let Peo do the quiz later and I bet she'll get most of the answers too.  This should be easy, basic stuff that every adult should understand as part of functioning in a modern society, especially when a lot of this stuff gets twisted by politics for medical debates or climate change discussions.  If you don't know the basics, how can you be an informed electorate?  If you don't know the basics, you're easily led about by fear mongering and charlatans.

Looking at the data table below the results from their phone survey (which to be fair is not something you can compare entirely to an online one, because I know I'm more likely to mess up if given multiple choice listed vocally as opposed to seeing them on a screen or piece of paper), it's also disappointing to see that most of the time more men knew the answers than women.  Some are close enough to probably be statistically the same, but others show a significant gap.  The only two where women did well were related to medications; in particular women did the best on something that's drummed home in pediatricians' offices with posters, flyers, and by the doctors' own words.  Guess which parent is statistically more likely to take the kids to the doctor?  But the questions about physics and geology show a sad, stark difference between men and women.

The age demographics are more scattered, but the education demographics are pretty much exactly what you'd expect.

There's much more in-depth analysis on their article here: http://www.people-press.org/2013/04/22/publics-knowledge-of-science-and-technology/  But take the quiz first since answers are given in the article, and if you find there's an area where you don't do as well as you like, follow groups like +ScienceSunday or +Fraser Cain's science circle to help broaden your daily dose of science content.

Because science isn't an academic option: it's required learning for comprehending and setting public policy.

Story
Introduction
Pedaling my bicycle around the world to promote peace and environmental awareness.

My name is Christopher Bornstein, Aloha, I have been bicycling since leaving my hometown, Lancaster, PA on August 27th, 2010.  Everyone in the world is my friend if they want to be=]
I vow to live a life based on all the things we hear, but often never do, all the words from religions (Jeremiah 29:11, I'nsha'Allah...), spirituality (all paths lead to the same source, we are all love, humility, courage...), self help books (4 Agreements, I AM...), old sayings from our youth (Always tell the truth, be kind to others, share...), from ancient wisdom (Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda...), from movies (Do or do not, there is no try - Yoda), from the wise and heroic ones from the past and present (Everyman dies, not everyman lives - William Wallace, I Have a Dream - Dr. Martin Luther King...),  it is all around us, what would it look like to actually live it, what wold become of that person.  I will find out.  I no longer drink, am celibate, I do not use drugs, I take no meat or dairy (Buddha Diet a.k.a. Vegan), I read, I exercise my body, mind and soul.  Most importantly, I hope for the best in mankind and do not despair.  I will learn to love myself and the world with all my heart.
I live my life to ensure the best for children of the world, it is my aim, my compass direction as I walk through time as I am now, it is my goal, how I keep on track.  What better aim to have than for the future of our species and the home that keeps us alive.

I have been cooking vegan meals, practicing Chinese medicine, talking to children at schools and halfway homes, to grown men and women, the homeless, the rich, the old, the young... to anyone who wants someone to talk to.
I pick up as many plastic can holders (usually referred to as 6 ring holders or something there about) as I can while riding, and pick up trash when not riding, it is sometimes an uncomfortable thing to do, but that is why I have to do it=]
I say hello to everyone who looks my way, and when riding my bike, i do my very best to say hello to everyone just because...
Soon I will be building things... farms, schools, wells etc. with my hands.
Soon I will be changing the world for us all with my heart and my thoughts.
Soon you will be helping me=)
Some of you already are...
