I'm happy to say that Crack now supports threading.  Thread support required two basic ingredients: a pthread extension (wrapped in a high-level Crack module) and the atomic_int type for reference counting. Normal integer ope...

Join some of the crack developers in a G+ hangout as we drink beer and chat about where we're at and where we're going.

If you want in, send your G+ id to mindhog@gmail.com or just reply to this post - I'll add people on a first-come first-serve basis.  The hangout will be broadcast publicly for everyone else.

It's been way too long since our last release, 8 months, in fact.  To be honest, I'd hoped we'd have 1.0 out by now, but I think we're in that final stretch that always seems to take so much longer than you could ever suspect.

So I'm going to come up for air and release 0.7, probably in the next week or two.  There's a lot of good stuff to release -- a number of new features, new modules and some major bug fixes.  Next up after this Shannon and I aim to tackle caching again, very aggressively, hopefully culminating in a 1.0 release by the end of the year.

After the release of version 0.6.1 early this year, we were hoping that our next release would be 1.0. Unfortunately, implementing compiled module caching (a featured we deemed critical for 1.0) prove...

As a long-time open source developer, I've always been a big fan of the LGPL. I've always believed it struck the best balance between promoting open source and allowing commercial users who, for whate...
