“Excellent choice for a stay in Sorrento!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 5 days ago NEW
I have just returned from a 4 night stay here with my sister, and we were very impressed overall! Our rooms were cleaned very well every day, and spacious. We were at the back of the hotel so there was no street noise. The roof terrace has lovely sea views and of Vesuvius in the distance, and the indoors areas of the hotel are also well-presented. I have stayed in many hotels in Sorrento, and think this one is much better than 3 stars and good value for money. All the staff were genuinely very friendly and helpful and we would like to say a special thank you to the manager in the breakfast room every day, he is a great character and made us and all the other guests smile every morning :)

We have been saving for a couple of years to be able to have a special holiday to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. This was our first holiday abroad by ourselves and quite a novelty for us. We had both settled on Italy and after much research settled on Hotel Zi Teresa. Definitely the right move to have made.

The staff are brilliant and frequently made us chuckle. The meals were very enjoyable so much so we never ate out other than for mid day snacks. You were provided with your table which had your name on which we felt was a really nice touch and enhanced our stay.

The room was exceptionally clean. We had a room with a large balcony on floor with a view of the swimming pool.

As we booked through Thomson's there was a guided walk around Sorrento which lasted about 2 hours (no cost) This was really worth while to help you get your bearings.

The hotel is a short walk from the train station which was really easy to use. we visited Pompeii and Ercalano (Herculaneum). we opted not to use a tour guide instead purchasing a book. Worth noting when you buy your ticket from Pompeii you can purchase a combined ticket which actually gives you access to 5 museums for less than the 2 combined.
We also went on a Thomson's tour to mount Vesuvius on the 4 X 4 with wine tasting. A fantastic experience. I have heard reports about Thomson's not informing people about the extra costs incurred for entrance fees. we did not find this an issue and were quite clear about what the overall cost would be.
On the tour it was a local guide Desiree who was brilliant as well as letting us know a little about her culture and what she does with her family.

We chose to go on a mini cruise which took us to Amalfi and we had the opportunity to swim in the sea off the boat. I am petrified of not being able to touch the floor in the sea, so it was a real challenge for me albeit i held on the the steps.
There is a little bar just down from the hotel called the banana split which had 3 sports screens and as such would provide the opportunity to see sporting events you may be interested in, as I don't care for any sort of sport I enjoyed a drink and my book at the bar as well as people watching whilst my husband watched his match.
Another bar well worth a visit for atmosphere humour and a simple meal is the English Inn.

There are far too many exciting things to write about.
We are determined that one way or another we will try and raise the funds to be able to visit again one day.

“Really nice hotel in an excellent location”

Booked this as a half board package through Thomsons. Hotel was nice and clean throughout with the staff being very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, large balcony with sea views, the bathroom was large with an excellent shower. There was a TV with just a couple of news channels in English. If the room lacked anything it would perhaps have been a fridge.
Breakfast was typical continental, lots of cakes, breads, cereals, cheese, ham an yogurts, good coffee machine and toaster, some mornings there were eggs on offer. Plenty of choice.
Evening meals were excellent, local Italian cuisine, which was perfect for myself but no so much for my 12 YO daughter, some simple options for children would have been appreciated.
Pool was small but never overcrowded with a shallow area for children, we made good use of it, there is a pool attendant who will bring you drinks and food throughout the day.
The location is perfect, a very short walk to the station, where you can get the train to Pompei or Herculaneum saving yourselves a fortune on the organised trips, alternatively the buses leave from there to Amalfi and Positano.
The main square is 10 mins walk away, which is packed with bars, shops and restaurants, the small streets of it are alive at night and lots of variety for gifts etc
Another 10 minute walk takes you to the port for boat trips to Capri or other islands and the small beaches/lido which are really very good to spend a day on.

“Our family holiday”

I went here with my daughter's , son inlaw's, two granddaughters and my grandson, we had rooms near to each other, my room was very clean, clean towels everyday, I had a huge balcony with views over the swimming pool and to the right glimpses of the sea, to the left glimpses of the mountains. Food lovely, staff lovely, also lovely pool. We were made to feel very welcome.

“Fantastic holiday”

Just stayed a week at Zi Teresa, had a fabulous holiday. The hotel is a 5 walk to the centre. We stayed on half board basis, breakfast consists of cereals and cakes, evening meal was selected from a menu for a 3 course meal. The meals are small but after 3 course we were full. The service in the restaurant was excellent. The rooms have recently been refurbished and cleaned immaculately every day, beds were comfortable. The pool is small but cleaned every morning. We enjoyed our stay at this small grand hotel and would definitely return. Couldn't fault it, staff very very pleasant. Sorrento itself is beautiful, we got the bus from Naples airport, then a few minutes walk to hotel, this ran regularly and was €10 each, took about 1 hour and quarter. There is an information centre at the bus stop at Sorrento, you can get all the information you need, no need to book expensive trips, you can get to places easily. We visited island of Capri, the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, the beach is a must, the sunbathing area is on jetties with shallow steps into the sea. All fabulous. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, some expensive some reasonable.

“Brilliant Time!”

We booked this hotel 12 months in advance, after doing some research before hand on this site and others
The hotel is one of the cleanest and tidiest hotels we have stayed in. All the staff are professional, very friendly and helpful.
It is a lovely small hotel and is very close to the town centre, with small shops just around the corner.
