We need your help! You're invited to participate in a fundraiser for the Raleigh Public Record at Raleigh Brewing Company. This fundraiser kicks off a critical six-month donation campaign to keep us from shutting down.

As you may know, we're a nonprofit, and we're running out of money. We've relied on grants so far, but we must have community support from business sponsors and individual donors.

Despite more than 11,500 monthly page views on our website, and 3,000 Twitter and 1,200 Facebook followers, readers appear reluctant to financially support local news content.

So we're sounding THE ALARM. Our #SaveRPR donor push encourages you to realize the importance of hyper-local information. Please donate $5 or $10 per month to help us keep going:

Locals are invited to learn more at the “Beers to the Record” fundraiser at Raleigh Brewing. The event includes fun trivia, a photo booth (My Record for the Record), beer specials, and food trucks.

Shoot. We've had some changes with tonight's event and we now need to CANCEL #RaleighTalks. Our deepest apologies for this abrupt change! Please help us spread word.

We'll be taking questions from the audience tonight. Hope to see you there!
Aug. 20 - Raleigh Talks: Off the Page, on the Record
Topic: The Sign Ordinance

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs. But where, how large, lighted or not. As Raleigh continues to grow, more business owners are questioning the rules about signs. The city has created a task force to look into all options. Meanwhile, we'd like to hear from some experts on the best practices to make a city and its businesses flourish.

Join us at Tir Na Nog every other month on the third Wednesday for a moderated discussion about a Raleigh topic making news. Tir Na Nog will donate to the Record 10 percent of food sales recorded between 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Cost: Free, but donations welcome to support our work.
