Who remembers this dust storm. It hit Melbourne around 3pm on this day in 1983.
Taller than Eureka Tower the storm dumped approximately 1,000 tonnes of topsoil on the city.

If you’ll be driving anywhere in the City of Melbourne this Australia Day, remember that on-street parking is free and unrestricted where the parking sign shows days of the week (such as ‘1P Monday – Friday’). If the sign doesn’t show days of the week, the usual fees and time limits apply. For those lucky ducks having long weekends, note that this only applies on Thursday http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/parking-and-transport/parking/parking-rules/Pages/parking-rules.aspx#holidays
