Join me for a monthly sword & sorcery adventure in the cursed crypts of Barrowmaze, Greg Gillespie’s sprawling site-based mega-adventure. Originally published for Labyrinth Lord, I am translating it into Newt Newport’s Crypts & Things to ladle more grim and horrific goodness over its bones.

This is a drop-in, drop-out game running once a month on the fourth Sunday of the month at my home in South Minneapolis. More details at the link, including contact info.

A New Years' tradition at Chez Shanewood! War games!
This year, NetEpic - a 3500 point battle between Tyranids (me) and Imperial Guard ( +Meridian Shanewood ). It was a great game - my first time playing 'Nids and his first playing Guard.

Saw Godzilla today. Verdict: a summer blockbuster with Godzilla in it, not really a proper Godzilla movie. Still enjoyable enough, and probably the right move if they're trying to jump-start an American G-franchise.

Northern Cross 2021
My learning curve was quicker than expected. I would say I'm about 75% confident that my Roll20 hacking has produced something usable. Art search is the real bear, always and forever. I am running a pretty "hard sf" Bliss Stage scenario, essentially a reboo...

A nation that condones brutality and hatred against its own people must not be rewarded with an event that is meant to celebrate the best of humanity and a spirit of universal understanding through athletic competition.

That seems very familiar - rural 1978 recruit here, via Holmes, but we basically kludged together a game out of bits and pieces of whatever we could find. Eventually AD&D mostly took over, but for a while it was a real fruit salad.
