I remember your A-Z last year and it was fun. Definitely looking forward to your movie theme as I'm a big movie fan. I'm doing a music theme this year and have had a great time compiling all my posts. Check it out when you have a chance. See you 'round the A-Z track!

So You Say You Want to Help Animals?
Here's a quick way to do just that and it will only take a minute of your time. All you have to do is fill out a form with your name and address to show your support of   The Animal Welfare in Agricultural Research Endeavors (AWARE) Act , H.R. 746/S. 388. F...

Is Your Dog Lazy?
Is your dog lazy? I have two greyhounds and by definition, greyhounds are lazy dogs. While they love to run, they're more sprinters than runners. Mine like to zoom around the yard for a few minutes and run a few laps but then they are just content and happy...

I can totally relate to your grief experience. Grief is a necessary process and one the road we need to travel in order for our broken hearts to heal. It sounds like you are letting it all flow naturally and that's great! Some people stuff it, ignore it, run from it, but since it's a necessary process, it is inevitable so I'm glad to hear that you are letting the emotions wash over you. That in itself is very healing. I love how you are bringing your son into the holiday (the tree for him, the momentos for his gravesite): that's beautiful. And he sees it all. I'm sure he's very touched by it all. You asked how we honor our deceased loved ones. Well, this past Thanksgiving I was all alone, except for the dogs. I don't have family in town, my parents don't travel anymore and my brother has his own family in another state. I have a dogsitting business so while other folks are traveling to be with their families, I'm here watching all their dogs. And I love it. Believe me, I'm thrilled with my chosen path. But there was still a sting on Thanksgiving day, being all alone with no family around. A dear friend brought over a dinner plate for me so I had all the Thanksgiving specialties. When I sat down to eat, wishing so much I could be with my family, I decided to call on my loved ones who are on the other side. So I brought them all to mind, I talked to each of them and I just felt like I had family with me. I guess that's a way to honor them, yeah? It felt right for me.
My heart goes out to you. Stay strong. And by all means, feel into the grief. Don't rush it. You need it to heal. Wishing you strength and resolve during this often tough time of year.
All the best,
