-This was taken from a little stroll by the river in Salzburg, Austria
My apologies for the delayed responses to your lovely comments, I am still touring (now in Israel) and have little time online. Just posting some shots from my trip in Austria last week:)) Will respond as soon as I can.
-Flew to Tromso from Oslo on a two-hour flight, arrived at 8:00 pm, the lady photographer called Marianne (she grew up here and has been a passionate aurora guide since 2009) whom I hired to guide me on the hunt for the aurora picked me up from the airport and with another person named Barbra we all went for the drive of our lives, to the remotest and darkest part of the area and found these scenes, till 3:00 am the next day:)) Had a few more shots of the city and I slept at 4:30 am, went for the fjord tour the next day.
The Aurora Borialis --
The bright dancing lights of the aurora are collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere. The lights are seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. They are known as 'Aurora borealis' in the north and 'Aurora australis' in the south..
Auroral displays appear in many colours although pale green and pink are the most common. Shades of red, yellow, green, blue, and violet have been reported. The lights appear in many forms from patches or scattered clouds of light to streamers, arcs, rippling curtains or shooting rays that light up the sky with an eerie glow.
