Sarah's posts

My Grandma's been posting the "BUT IT SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE" argument in response to my support of the VOTE NO campaign in MN (to keep the One Man + One Woman amendment OFF our constitution). I read a very moving and thoughtful blog post once on the biblical quotes usually referenced to prove the "SEE HERE, IT SAYS GAY MARRIAGE IS BAD" nonsense, and how those quotes are misinterpreted or misused.

Anybody know what it might have been, or have another great link to share? There's just so much garbage on the internet and I thought this article at least was very well done.

FYI - If you send me a notification and:
- I have no idea who you are.
- You're not in any of my circles.
- You're inviting me to an event on the other side of the country/world.
- You're trying to sell me your book.

...I will block you. If in doubt, POST WITHOUT NOTIFICATIONS!

I'm stepping down as blog editor at Apex so I can focus my time on some of our website/technology plans.

Who wants to join our awesome Apex team?

When I donated blood last week, I was shocked to learn last week that any gay man who has had sex since 1977, or any woman who has had sex with a man who had sex with another male, is NOT ALLOWED to donate blood. FDA regulations, even though they test the blood for HIV/AIDS. I'm surprised this isn't a bigger issue because it blows my mind.

Seriously? WTF

It's amazes me what lengths people will go to for promoting their work and/or "business" ideas. Spamming my Apex Book Company email is NOT a good idea. And don't sign me up for your mailing lists without my permission. *sigh* #themoreyouknow

From @laughingsquid:"In 1992, at the age of 12, filmmaker Jeremiah McDonald filmed himself talking to his future self. Now, twenty years later, he not only has watched the video but has made a new one. A Conversation With My 12 Year Old Self: 20th Anniversary Edition is the name of the awesome film in which he cleverly converses with his younger self."

This is absolutely brilliant.
