Voluntarily climbing into an ice-cold chamber might not sound as inviting as a yoga class, but cryotherapy is growing in popularity.

Social Media Consultant
Introduction
Salmon Creek Media & Marketing - spa industry specialist with a passion for social media and marketing!

Jennifer has been involved in the hospitality and spa industry for over twenty-three years, and brings an emphasis on planning and development, daily operations, and sales and marketing. She combines these areas with strong administrative and leadership skills as well as a thorough knowledge in spa, salon, fitness, and wellness issues.

Originally from Oneida, New York, Jennifer spent ten years in Mexico City and graduated high school from the American School Foundation. She then graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.S. in Education. Jennifer’s spa career began in 1988 as the assistant manager with the Spa at Bally's Park Place Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and then the spa manager position after just one year.  In 1991, she was recruited for the assistant spa director position of Spa Internazionale Fisher Island Club, Inc. in Miami, Florida. At Fisher Island, she had the opportunity to provide services for Oprah Winfrey, Demi Moore, Meg Ryan, Brooke Shields, Jim Courier, and Boris Becker among many other celebrities.  Along with providing world-class service, she furthered her knowledge of accounting, budgeting, human relations and daily operations within the spa.

Her first spa opening was at the Spa at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Florida as spa director where she was responsible for hiring all spa positions, staff training, selection of treatment supplies, daily operations, as well as advertising and marketing responsibilities. From mid 1999 to mid 2000, Jennifer served as spa director at the Spa at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort just north of Atlanta, Georgia.  At Chateau Elan, she had the unique responsibility of not only managing a large resort spa, but also 14 spa sleeping rooms and a 32-seat spa restaurant.

In mid-2000, The Spa at The Hotel Hershey, Hershey, PA, presented a new and unique challenge for Jennifer—a spa in a historic hotel built by the king of chocolate.  Here she was able to develop and create a menu of services that was totally out of the norm for a spa … chocolate spa services.  With a little creativity and plenty of thinking outside the typical spa box, she created the beginning of the chocolate spa media frenzy!  Within two years of operation, talk began about expanding the spa.  The 13,000 sq. ft. expansion opened November 2004.  Even after four years of operation, the interest in the chocolate spa continues.

Jennifer’s most recent spa leadership was at the Golden Door Spa at The Boulders, in Carefree, AZ.  From 2007-2011, she led an experienced team of professionals during the most difficult economic times in recent history.  Focusing on a membership of 400 residents, resort guests, and the local community, Jennifer developed and implemented programming that was rich in wellness activities.  This is where Jennifer gained much of her social media experience being a leader at The Boulders of the social media team.

Jennifer served on the ISPA board of directors from 2004-2011.  During her board service, she served in a variety of responsibilities including Vice Chair, Foundation Board Member, Executive and Nominations Committee, Certified Spa Supervisor Task Force, Focus Group and Membership Committee Board Liaison.  In addition, Jennifer has served on several advisory boards for massage schools in both PA and AZ.

Her passion for everything spa has led her to Salmon Creek Media & Marketing.  She will utilize her extensive experiences in social media, marketing, public relations and daily operations in the spa industry so that YOUR business can and will prosper in the new age of media and marketing.

Best tacos al pastor outside of Mexico. Be sure to get plenty of lime for added flavor. And the queso fundido is awesome too! Mmmmmm!

I had one of the BEST massages ever with Laurie (in my top 10)! She is extremely thoughtful with her body work and is able to zero in on areas that need attention. I highly recommend her! If you have the time, take an 80-minute massage! You won't regret it. The spa is lovely and my first thought was "I don't feel like I'm in a mall environment". Very relaxing and serene atmosphere. The ladies at the front desk and in the locker area were polite and helpful with smiles to share! I will be back for more massages with Laurie!
