A romantic and lively taste of Italy tucked away from all the commerce. Bring someone you want to impress, especially yourself. The Lamb Shanks are simply delicious and out of this world tender. Ask Giulio for a side of Gnocchi tossed in Gorgonzola sauce, if it's busy he may roll his eyes, but it's totally worth it. Enjoy, this place is a treat!.

Not only is the food really great, but I especially wanted to come write a review and talk about the service, which I thought was terrific. Water glasses were always full, plates were cleared promptly but not rushed, our waiter was friendly without trying too hard...just very relaxed but diligent service. So the food is also excellent! A wide selection of pastas...all pretty rich and heavy though, but worth the indulgence. I ordered the Gnocchi alla Romana con Pecora, which came with 3 polenta 'cakes' and tender chunks of lamb in a tasty, tomatoe-y sauce. Portions are generous, and especially after bread and a side salad, you definitely have another meal to take home. Support local business and get away from the city!

It has romantic views of the sunset over Puget Sound and amazing food. The service was excellent. You do pay for what you get. The prices are more expensive than a chain Italian restaurant, but when the owner is the one seating you, you know it's authentic and worth it!

Good, authentic food at reasonable prices with excellent service. The outdoor seating with a view of the Sound was clutch.

My husband and I stayed in Alki Beach for vacation, and this wonderful little restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the house we rented. Lucky us! We have traveled a little in Italy, and found the food here to be as good as (if not better) than anything we had there. We started with the Calamari in Umido, which is steamed (not fried) calamari in a spicy red sauce. I wasn't sure what to do with all the sauce, but it made for wonderful dipping with the pizza-like flat bread served at the table. It was difficult to decide on dinner because there are so many choices -- big menu for a small place. I finally chose the Pollo Salt'imbocca (chicken breast with cheese and prosciutto). My husband had the Involtini al Sugo di Barbera (pork loin with sausage and salami). Both entrees caused much eye-rolling and outbursts of "mmmm", which is one of the signs of a 5-star meal for us. Most surprising was the accompanying pasta with marinara and roasted veggies, which were both flavorful and unique, showing that they really do go the extra mile even for something as often neglected as a side dish. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu, which brought on many more "mmmm's" and much eye rolling. Really, truly fantastic! The service was also wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and very attentive. Our waitress had a great sense of humor, and the owner came by and chatted with us twice and wished us a great vacation when we left. If you go (and you should), note that there is no obvious signage outside, so look for the address of the place. It's a little white house on the corner of Beach Drive and Carroll Street.

This little Italian restaurant in West Seattle near Alki Beach is a hidden gem. Perfect for date night, the restaurant is small, cozy and ornate inside. The food is AMAZING and the kitchen is super accommodating to requests for gluten-free dishes.
