Is there a gender bias in archaeological and anthropological studies? I've been studying ancient Mesopotamia on my own for about 6 years and ancient Khemet/Egypt for about two, and I've been running into a lot of female writers arguing the patriarchy diminished the role of women and goddesses. Is there evidence of this? I'd honestly like to know because this is disturbing to me. My favorite PHD is Dr. Rosalie David, a British Egyptologist. She is tough, mildly amusing and brilliant. I've not noticed much of such a thing from her, but I have from others. I ask this not to start an online flame war, but as a serious question.
