Is there a gender bias in archaeological and anthropological studies?  I've been studying ancient Mesopotamia on my own for about 6 years and ancient Khemet/Egypt for about two, and I've been running into a lot of female writers arguing the patriarchy diminished the role of women and goddesses.  Is there evidence of this?  I'd honestly like to know because this is disturbing to me.  My favorite PHD is Dr. Rosalie David, a British Egyptologist.  She is tough, mildly amusing and brilliant.  I've not noticed much of such a thing from her, but I have from others.  I ask this not to start an online flame war, but as a serious question.

Californian condor not extinct yet, but still regularly poisoned by lead - important, by +Ed Yong

Myra Finkelstein from the University of California, Santa Cruz writes that the condor is “a symbol of environmental tragedy and triumph”. The huge bird, with its three-metre wingspan and eerily smooth flight, was once widespread across North America. Between power lines, guns, and pesticides, their population plummeted. The birds were frequently poisoned by lead after scavenging off shot-filled carcasses, and that’s if poachers weren’t filling them with lead shot in a more direct way.

There are some who would argue that Story games and Role Playing games are not the same, but then we are not on the Pundits forum either.

I like to think of story games as Roleplaying with more emphasis on group storytelling than rules and charts.

The prevailing political wisdom says that a U.S. president should win re-election if gasoline prices are stable, the stock market is climbing and monthly jobless numbers are declining.

This is WHY I left Facebook. This time they changed people's default email without consent. If you haven't looked, your email on Facebook is now yourname@facebook.com.

Arrogant little shits.
Hey, here’s something really stupid and annoying: Facebook abruptly switched everyone’s default email address to the @facebook.com account...
