A little confession: Ever since I saw Antonio Banderas and Madonna in Evita, I wanted to go to Argentina. So when my doctor recommended Chile and Argentina as places we could go, I was ready to pack my bags.   It's a long trip. While there are a few direct flights, we got really affordable tickets which meant we had 2 layovers. But after nearly 20 hours of travel, we arrived in Argentina. From Palermo, St. Elmo and Recoletta to the ...

A big fat amen to +Glorianna Tillemann-Dick on this extremely insightful piece of writing. Thank you for sharing. #race   #raceinamerica   #blm  #
[A little disclaimer: this is angstier and Mormoner than this blog's usual fair, so be advised.] "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." -The 11th Article of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Dear Church People, I started writing this letter right after the Cha...

Big news...
Hello All! We missed you terribly! (This is where you say "OMG! We missed you too! Like, sooooo much! Oh my gosh we were, like, sooooo lost without you! Totes serious! No you stop it! Besties forever. Love you, betch.") You done? No. Sorry. I'm so sorry. Ok. If you couldn't tell, my blog-writing skillz have gotten a bit rusty over the past 6-7-8ish months. But not even inevitable self-inflicted internet chagrin can tamp my enthusias...

A somewhat unusual holiday message...
Many women facing abortion don't see a choice. They see abortion as their only real option. They don't see the possibility of a real life for their children; so why would they bring them into the world?

On a lighter note, does anyone belong to a #CSA? I do and at time, I have a hard time making it through my #farmshare . If you need some ideas, scroll through this post for some fresh takes on fresh produce. #eatlocal   #farmfresh   #recipes
From 12 o'clock: savoy cabbage, the best milk maybe ever, green beans, red raspberries, kind of mind blowingly good swiss cheese, kirby cucumbers, regular cucumbers, eggs, yellow summer squash, green zucchini, yellow zucchini, beets, broccoli crowns, blueberries, butter, cherries, tomatoes. Not shown is Yoni's chocolate milk. We also have yogurt from last time. We're gonna have some good eats these weeks.  Summer has officially arriv...

Yep!  We have the same problem from time to time --- so much good food and you can't let it go to waste!  Here is a wonderful cook book by Deborah Madison on cooking from Farmer's Markets. When you don't know what to do with all that cabbage, here are some great things to make with it! http://deborahmadison.com/local-flavors/

Gorgeous pictures of my favorite state (Colorado, of course) and some of my favorite people. +Mercina Tillemann-Dick +Liberty Tillemann-Dick +Premal Trivedi +Thomas Ainscough
A few weeks ago, Liberty, Premal, Tom and I headed to Glenwood Springs for their annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. It was a long drive (nearly four hours), but driving through an unusually lush Colorado was actually a real treat. Whenever I come home I can't help but be in awe of just how beautiful this state is. Because call time for the hot air balloons was at 6am, we drove up the night before and camped out at a pretty little campsi...

I was 18. It was midnight and my best friends were over. Katie, Ruth and I were an ambitious troupe of friends, with very clear goals. Ruth wanted to be a mother and musician. Katie wanted to be an academic. I loved opera and writing, but all I really wanted to do was go on a Mormon mission.

Charity, from the gorgeous little three year old Nicholas, Jonathan, and I first met in Denver back in l985, I am so happy to know that you are continuing to live, to sing, and to be more gorgeous than ever. Had we known of your NYC concert in 2011, we'd have certainly been there. My husband and I now live in Grantham, NH, about 45 minutes from Concord/Bow and 15 minutes from Hanover, territory with which I know you are very well acquainted. The Washington Post article about you was republished up here in the Lebanon, NH newspaper, "The Valley News." I worked for several years at Dartmouth and now have a new company awaitiing my attention after I get some health issues of my own resolved. Nicholas is now in Mountain View, CA where he is a product manager with IBM and Jonathan in Tokyo, where he is in business development with several companies of his own. So, as the Japanese say, Gambatte! (Keep up the effort, you are clearly doing all sorts of things right!
God bless you,
Carol Harlow
