Robert Trent Jones Golf Club Hosts 2015 Quicken Loans Tournament

As Managing Director of the Northern Virginia division of Merrill Lynch, Peter Ambrose remains responsible for all the company’s offices and employees in that area. He has worked at this division of Merrill Lynch, based in Mclean, Virginia, since 2007. When not in the office, Peter Ambrose remains involved in golf and belongs to the Robert Trent Jones (RJT) Golf Club.

Located in Gainesville, Virginia, the RJT Golf Club was designed by course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Situated near Lake Manassas, the course provides a stunning setting for golfers. Membership is by invitation only, with members adhering to a professional golf dress code when on the course. In addition, they receive a caddie accompaniment during their round of play.

In August 2015, the RJT Golf Club hosted the Quicken Loans Tiger Woods Golf Tournament. The tournament, which rotates courses every so often, began in 2007 at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, with the 2016 tournament scheduled to return there. Troy Merritt won the 2015 tournament with a score of 18-under-par and set a tournament record with shooting a 10-under-61 on the Saturday of the tournament. Rickie Fowler was runner-up at 15-under-par.

River Bend Golf and Country Club Honored for Its Par-3 Third Hole

Employed by Merrill Lynch since 2004, Peter Ambrose works as the Managing Director of the Northern Virginia division headquartered in Mclean, Virginia. When not in the Merrill Lynch office, Peter Ambrose enjoys golfing and is a member of the River Bend Golf and Country Club.

Located in Great Falls, Virginia, the River Bend Golf and Country Club caters to individuals in the Washington, DC, area. The private, member-owned country club offers golf, tennis, swimming, and fitness amenities. Founded in 1961, the club maintains a small membership number with only 635 active members. In 2011, the club’s 18-hole golf course underwent renovation by renowned architect Keith Foster.

In the January/February 2016 issue of Virginia Golfer magazine, the third hole of the River Bend Golf and Country Club received recognition as one of the state’s great golf holes. After the significant renovation in 2011, the entire course resembles a Foster original design. The par-3 third hole rests on the club’s former dump and maintenance shed, with the hole situated away from the clubhouse. This allows members to enjoy the design even when not on the course. Other features of the hole include a downhill slope with a 40-foot drop to the green, a bunker on the front right, and a creek on the left.
