Subpar supermarket specializing in caribbean food and produce. Not super clean but clean enough for you to feel okay with buying certain items.

This has become my regular go to facility for ailments. I am not sure who runs the center but I do hope and wish that they would provide training for staff re: better customer service skills. On several occassions I have received appointment reminders/calls from staff members who sound like they either have marbles in their mouth or sound like they've never had a phone conversation with anyone other than their best friend. When you go in you exprience the same thing. If you don't approach the staff at the reception desk they will ignore you and exasperatly answer your questions when you do have one. However, even with that they still manage to run a decent center. There are staff members who are polite and friendly, they even greet you when you walk in #mindblown!

I should of known using Priceline's Name Your Own Price Feature would get me in a debacle. I usually stay at the Sheraton (you'll understand why soon enough) but clicked the wrong star rating. Trust me there is a BIG difference between 3.5 stars and 4.0 stars. I booked this room for my mom, she travels often between Virginia and NYC and like I said our NORMAL hotel is the Sheraton down the street. N-e hoo, my mom checked in a head of me and when I arrived I was greeted by a sorta pleasant front desk attendant. Offered to help me with my bags (+1.0 star.) Went to the elevator and immediately jumped on one, not realizing the Marriott has these "new tech savy" elevators. You press your floor--the elevator comes--elevator takes you directly to the floor you pressed. This would be awesome BUT your floor selection happens OUTSIDE of the elevator. So, if you don't press your floor you end up going to everyone elses floor. Causing you to then get off and start the process all over again. I have faith it can be efficient-- just not right now (-0.25) Finally, I reached my floor and upon walking to my room, I started feeling like I was in the YMCA bathrooms back when I was little. You know that chlorine heavy smell that let's you know it's time to rinse your skin off before going to swim laps. Moving along (-0.25) Get to my room and the smell has multiplied by 20! So why did our room smell like a public pool? Oh, because our room, although it had a balcony, was facing the indoor pool. Marriott your fancy indoor jungle pool is no-where near similar to the Embassy Suites indoor aquatics/leisure pool area (-0.25) I'm starting to forget why I gave it 2 stars. By this point I just want to shower and lay down and catch up with my mum. Now, my mother and I are connoisseur's of luxury bedding and linens. We like fluffy oversized pillow, white sheets, filled comforters--you get the point. Obviously, you can't expect too much from hotel beds. Especially with the countless amount of people sleeping in them. However, the Sheraton obviously knows what a good bed feels like (they give you at least 4-6 pillows.) Maybe that's why some of the staff looks so tired, they sleeping on soggy mashed potato beds. Yes, that's EXACTLY what it felt like--soggy mashed potato's. I would keep going but I think you get my point re: this stay. Basically, I gave two stars--one for the guy who checked me and one for the guy who gave me a new room on the elite floor--they had more pillows and a fridge in that room. My advice: stay away.

Almost every time I go to this place someone has some sort of an attitude. If you don't put your order in completely, they get fustrated. If you ask for a specific piece of meat, they get annoyed. I use to buy their fish cakes but when they started putting too much flour and frying them in too much oil, I stopped. Their soup is good but many of the other dishes lack flavor, especially their veggies. I probably won't buy from them as I can't deal with their poor customer service. Maybe it's just me...

Good place to go if you want a real quick eyebrow threading session. Nothing fancy or elaborate. You may have to wait 5-10 minutes depending on the day and time (weekends busy.) Good place if you live in Bushwick, Bedstuy or williamsburgh.

In honor of a good friends birthday, the ladies & I attended a Saturday brunch. Upon walking in, I noticed the open kitchen towards the rear and the bars floating liquor fixture. This was definitely my kind of place. I examined the bar a bit, all while finding a cute bartender (loved his accent.) We were seated at large open booth with more than ENOUGH space for our coats and bags. I truly had a hard time deciding on what I wanted because, honestly I just wanted to try everything. Since I did not have breakfast, I decided on the gruyere, bacon & mushroom omelet. It came with a side of hearty multi-grain toast. We shared a mixed green salad covered in a delicious champagne vinaigrette. My mimosa had just enough liquid courage and just enough OJ to give me the giggles. Overall, I loved the ambiance, decor and comfy seating. I think my omelet lacked a little flavor but it served it's purpose! I wonder what the night scene is like...
