Hi guys, here is a bit more information about the upcoming free demo to be available sometime in June.

It will contain 3 tracks which will be playable individually or in a mini championship. To add to the strategy you will now be able to select from 3 dry tyre compounds and drivers can now receive drive through penalties for causing a collision. We have improved various other things and fixed various bugs. We have also enabled proper full screen mode and you will be able to customize the backdrops per track and per team.

As always, we aim to bring you the best racing management experience we can using proper physics and advanced AI to deliver realistic racing like no other ;)

Hi all, sorry about the lack of updates, it's been pretty hectic for us here. Early access is probably still a few months away but we hope to bring you a new free demo early June. Keep the faith, the game will be completed no matter how long it takes!!!

Here is the latest news on the game development.  Unfortunately things are not going too well at the moment and progress has been quite slow the past few weeks.  Creating artificial intelligence is pretty complex and trying to get it to behave realistically on different circuits has proved challenging.  Also, now that we have enabled car damage and spins, avoiding silly collisions has been very tricky. As this game is focused on the AI drivers, it will not be very enjoyable if it did not work correctly.

I think we are probably still a far way off if we want it to be done properly and therefore we will not be releasing an early access version any time soon.  There is some minor consolation though, instead of early access we are now working towards another free demo which we hope will be ready towards the end of February.  Please bear with us while we work on creating the best game we can but I advise that it could be a long process.  Nonetheless, we will persevere until it's good and ready.

With the end of 2015 fast approaching here is an update on where we are regarding the release of the early access version. Everything that we planned for the version is in and working (ie. 10 tracks, championship mode, full race weekends, crashes/damage etc) however it still requires extra tuning to make it more playable, additional detail to the track graphics and we need to improve the AI to better handle unusual situations such as avoiding crashes.

We think that if we rushed, we can probably make it for the end of 2015, however our feeling is to leave it a bit longer to further improve the game. I cannot see many benefits in chasing an arbitrary deadline, but I think there will be a lot to lose in terms of any bad reviews we might get due to it being rushed. We want to produce a good product and I don't think I can be satisfied releasing something that has not been fully tested or tuned.

With this in mind I think you should expect that it will not be released in 2015 but we hope it will be ready by the end of January 2016. We really appreciate that some of you have become big fans of the game and we expect you will be disappointed by the delay, but if we released early you might be more disappointed with a game that might not be very playable. The later we leave it the more we can work on it and the better it will be upon release. I think this shows our commitment to producing a great game and not trying to cash in on an unfinished product. You can rest assured it will be coming and we will make it the best we possibly can.

TIP for Windows tablet users or if you have problems with mouse clicks not registering in the correct place. For some reason on some tablets the game window size is initially incorrect and thus mouse clicks are in the wrong position. To resolve the problem if you DOUBLE-CLICK the titlebar it should set it to the correct size and thus mouse clicks will then be correct. I've not heard any complaints about this so I'd be interested to know how many of you have tried it on your windows tablet?

I'm quite impressed with it running on my rather cheap 7" windows tablet with 1gb of RAM. It needs to be run in LOW GRAPHICS mode though which is fine as it's a small screen.

Now that you've seen the game in action and the level of detail we are putting in, it is time to update you on where we are and our future plans.

Lots of people have asked what the rest of the game is going to be like. Well please look at our previous video "UI Tour" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DumJYY4IL-Y), this is how the game currently looks and the final version will be very similar. Most of the features we planned are already in the game and are working to a certain extent, but not to a level we would be happy with. This is the time consuming bit as it requires lots of extra detail, revisions and play testing. With this in mind we envisage that a fully featured version will be many months away, we are probably looking towards mid 2016.

However, there is some good news, with "early access", it gives us the opportunity to release the game sooner. If you do not know what "early access" is, it basically allows you to pre-purchase and play the game before it is fully finished. Do not feel that you'll be buying a buggy mess of a game, we will only release early access versions when we are happy the features included are in a highly playable state. As you have seen from the demo, this is the way we work and early access will be no different.

We expect to release our first early access version near the end of 2015. This version will allow you to compete in a Championship Season consisting of around 10 tracks, each with their own characteristics. You will also be able to take part in full race weekends that will allow you to do car setups, practices and knock out qualifying, as well as an improved race simulation with car damage, safety cars and retirements. We feel there is a lot of gameplay to be had at this stage and that you will find a lot of variety that will keep you entertained for a long time. Please note, this version will not have any finance, contracts or car development, if this is important to you then please wait until these parts are released later next year.

I hope this answers many of your questions and we look forward to bringing you the first early access version of the game near the end of 2015.

Here we go!!!  The demo is finally here.  We are truly happy with what we have achieved and we hope you will enjoy the realistic and dynamic races that you will experience.  Please bear in mind that this is a work in progress demo and it is subject to further improvements.  It is only one part of a bigger game, however it is the most important part of a racing game and the hardest part to do and get right.

Languages included are English, Dansk, Deutsch, Francais, Italiano and Portugues.  Other languages maybe available in future from either ourselves or from the public and can simply be copied into the demo.

We will be updating you in a few days time on our future plans.  So for the time being enjoy the demo and be sure to give us your feedback on our discussion forum at www.RaceTeamSimulator.com/Forum

Here's an update of where we are with the demo.  But first, apologies for not keeping you up to date before.  We thought due to our previous estimates being unfulfilled we should wait for the demo to be finished before we announced anything.  We expected it would only be days away, then that became weeks, and then that became many weeks unfortunately.  We have worked hard to improve the race engine to what it is now and we hope you will enjoy how realistic and dynamic the racing can be.

As for the demo, it is pretty much ready now, we are just doing some final testing and getting some language translations done.  If that all goes well we will be ready to release.  I can't say exactly when but almost certainly before the end of the month.

Also for clarification, the demo will be of a single race only allowing you to experience the realistic racing and make those all important strategic decisions in the race, just in case you were expecting the whole game.

So the first bit of news is, we're changing the game name. It will now be know as "Race Team Simulator", instead of the mouthful it was previously. We think this describes the game better too, it's more than a game it's a simulation. If you're interested in a short story about the game name head over here http://www.raceteamgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=500 . More news updates coming soon.
