Came for an early dinner. Wow! Food was awesome. The garlic bread really is good as they say. Service was spectacular. Prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in Hartford.

Great place! The service from every single person was excellent (from the host to the lady who cleared the table). Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the garlic cheese bread (stuffed and topped with ooey, gooey, melted cheeses), the Giobatto pasta (spicy red sauce with chicken, sausage, and veal), hangar steak with gorganzola cream sauce, potato lasagna (think layers of au gratin goodness baked in a lasagna pan and cut into square servings), chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato, and a scoop of graham cracker gelato (with yummy bits of chocolate covered grahams). There was nothing I would change, and I plan to return often.

I found Salute at the recommendation of my hotel's receptionist. I walked from the hotel to Bushnell Park, the Capital Building, and then Salute. We arrived in time for Happy Hour specials: $3 drafts, $4 house wines, $5 cocktails, and half price select starters. HH lasts until 7:30. We each got a drink, split two starters, and shared the Rose Pasta (an incredible tortellini creation with a pink creamy sauce, sausage, and peppers). The Italian bread was very fresh, and the orange butter had a smoky taste. The service was excellent; different waiting staff checked on us every 10 minutes. Our caretaker sent us home with a surprise bag of homemade biscotti. Would definitely recommend as Best of Hartford Dining, especially if you are visiting the city and can take a walk! I would come back here again!

Went there during the taste of Hartford event. Very slick place, with excellent food/selection and atmosphere. Jimmy was extremely welcoming - it was an all around enjoyable place.

I was here with my gf for our 8month anniversary earlier this year; the service is great, the food is amazing and the environment is beautiful. We both enjoyed every moment because everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. They even surprised us with a little gift, which was very sweet of them. Thus, I would gladly recommend them to anyone who is looking for something beautiful and romantic but at the same time affordable.

We were in a big rush and had to catch a train. They got us seat right away and the food was out so quickly that if it wasn't so great you wouldn't think wasn't fresh (which it was). Will definitely be back!! Thank you

I had really high hopes for this one. First thing I noticed when I walked in was great atmosphere and a terrible smell that lingered in my nostrils the entire meal. We had some fried soft shell crab "appetizer" that really just turned out to be a salad. I had a chicken parmesan which is a dish so simple that it's actually difficult to mess up. Pasta was over cooked, sauce was bland, and the chicken was breaded and cooked to hell. My companion had a scallop and rice dish. The scallops were beautifully cooked and seasoned but at 5 bucks a scallop it better have been cooked with gods cum. 4 scallops and a full plate of lunchroom rice complete with peas and square carrots made this dish a total disappointment. The owner seemed very nice and extremely full of himself. and I hope that he will go back to restoring a standard of quality which made his restaurant so popular in the first place. That or the people of Hartford have terrible taste in Italian cuisine.

I visited yesterday, my third visit, and it was amazing. Every dish is delicious and the owner was super friendly and generous. Thank you for your kind greeting on the way in and out. We will be back soon!!
