I booked Iron Cactus for an event at one of their rooms recently. The entire experience from booking to deciding on the menu and making any accommodations on the day of the event was excellent!!! The staff was friendly and polite and they were a pleasure to work with! The food was excellent and I would greatly recommend Iron Cactus for your next event. Thank you Iron Cactus for a great time!

The atmosphere is great, but the food is just ok, and not really much better than that. Everything is really expensive for what you get.

Came to Austin for the weekend and saw tye amount of reviews the Iron Cactus had and figured we couldn't go wrong with the food. My girlfriend order a chicken plate and it was wonderful and I had the carne guisada. The rice and beans were godly but the meat was so tough. I couldn't finish my plate, because my jaw was hurting from chewing over cooked. We will come back again but will try something else

Great service and good food. Had the pork enchiladas and they were good. A bit sweet though. Table side made guacamole was really good.

Service is absolutely HORRIBLE! In the middle of our meal our server, Ashton ran over and said "I'm going to break, the bartender will finish helping you!" Seriously?! We went without water for a while even while trying to flag the bartender down and to get the check. Who does that? I would be more sympathetic if it was an emergency but it clearly wasn't as she looked for her sunglasses for 5 minutes. Would not recommend due to mediocre food and lack of service.

One of the better places to eat on 6th Street. Go straight for the Mexican Martini and some chips and queso.

Texmex cuisine. Good food. We were seated upstairs and had a great view of the street below.

HORRENDOUS service. Bartender had an awful attitude with an empty bar on a Tuesday night. Manager was rude as hell and didn't care about his staffs' apathy. He and his staff stood in the corner pointing and talking about our group. Took 15 minutes to get a table and the restaurant is literally empty. Avoid this location unless you want to be angry and hungry.
