I'm in Teddington. I would much prefer to be in space.

Google does still do nice things, see.
Eric Schmidt, Chair of Google: "Put simply, technology breakthroughs can't happen without the scientists and engineers to make them. The challenge that society faces is to equip enough people, with the right skills and mindset, and to get them to work on the most important problems."

I was under the impression things had changed since the year of my birth...
Talking of Ceefax as we were yesterday, here's a video advert for Prestel from 1980. Prestel, for those of you too young too remember or who live outside the UK, was a BT service transmitted by telephone line rather than through the airwaves, had almost the same screen format as Ceefax, and even had an email system! If you stay with the video until the end you'll see the wonderful graphics that were possible.

Just had a quick listen to the Sony XBA-4 headphones, circa £400. First impressions suggest four balanced armatures per bud = insanely good sound, even for that ridiculous price. Full review in the June issue of Stuff.

Incidentally, Quattro by Calexico is a brilliant tune for testing. It never gets old.
