I love this place's food is USUALLY good (Hawaiian tacos are incredible, rustic fries, and cheddar fondue are to die for), however the service is TERRIBLE.. the last two times i have been here i have been seated next to a wall with sticky coke splatter stains and food grease coated all over the wall and light structure, i made the mistake of leaning on it with a white shirt and have the stains on my shirt. Last night was the last straw for me, the table was sticky and had food from a previous table. My napkin was already dirty before i even used it with dried lipstick that i could peel off, i poured water onto the napkin and wiped the wood table myself... it was disgusting and i feel as if i am going to catch something with all of the red and black tar that came from it. Waiter didn't refill our glasses once forgot us on multiple occasions so the host had to play waitress so we could get some water. I feel disrespected and if i ever eat at this place, i will be ordering take out. Food gets a 4 on a good day and their service gets a 2 on what wasn't a busy day for them

Bored uninterested front staff. Took forever to get a seat even though there was open tables and no one ahead of us. It took nearly 40 minutes for a single waffle to come out. The food was complete garbage. Waste of time and money.

My boyfriend and I picked this out of all of the restaurants on the Pearl St Mall. He is a vegetarian, and I am not. It was after 3 so it was Happy Hour which lasts til closing. :) Half priced drinks and half price on a large portion of their menu. He had a vegetarian wrap with falafels and fries and a beer...I had a large fondue dish with meat, bread, fruit, and veggies and two margaritas. The bill was 26 bucks. You can't beat that! The food was yummy, the margarita was good, atmosphere was nice, menu had a lot of interesting things, and the service was excellent.

Disappointing. This place holds many memories for me over the years, an iconic Boulder, longtime, locals spot where you take visitors to enjoy food and the ped mall action... but perhaps they no longer care since their lease is up in June 2015. As others have noted, the staff could care less. The moment I was handed a menu, I was grossed out. When was the last time these laminated menus were cleaned? Waiter was impatient taking our order. The bottom of my entree plate had food scraps on it. There are smear and grime marks across all the artwork hanging on the walls (unfortunate because some of it is quite beautiful!) All that said, the host gave us a warm greeting upon entry. I also noticed that he was friendly with his staff. I was willing to eat the top layer of my salad and the grilled meat -which, I admit was tasty. If the Boulder Cafe were to give themselves a small overall, they could go out in style.

Hey now! This place will take your money faster than the buskers you can sit and watch from the patio! Seriously... Nine dollars for French onion soup? Mediocre French onion soup? C'mon! I don't pay that much in FRANCE! But back to the buskers. :) Fine - it's a decent place to go for happy hour, with decent seafood and cheap but average drinks, but other than that it's a pass for me: the food is just not good, and nine dollars for French Onion soup is tres mal. Non pour moi!

Was very excited to eat here. Sadly, we will not be going back. Serving portions were not worth the price you pay. We ordered $9.99 peel and eat shrimp. We received exactly 5 shrimp. Really?? When we asked the waitress she assured us that was the correct size. Over prized and non-filling.

I love the hummus plate! Get it every time! The service is always excellent! The drinks are well made! My buddies told me the clams were also very delicious! Patio or inside-both are a great atmosphere!
