Don't let the beach scene trick you....it was not a warm beach sunrise...no, last week it was really cold on the Carolina Coast. But I got out in it anyway, I have not gotten out to shoot much lately, and I wasn't going to pass up the chance. And besides, it is a blessing to watch the sunrise, they are all different, and I always enjoy them.
I had seen this spot on a recon trip a few months ago, and knew I wanted to shoot here...on this morning it was too cold to get out the LE gear, so I worked with just a camera and a lens...keeping it simple and working with the exposure times I could get. It was fun to get out and shoot, even if I was cold the rest of the day.
This is a three shot panorama vertically...I really wanted to capture the vastness of the sky in front of me, with all of its color graduations...while also capturing the old pier stumps and incoming tide...
I think its safe to say, that if I lived on the beach, or near it...I would not be a beach bum...but I would see the sunrise most everyday...and I would take a lot more pictures!
