With brick walls & leather booths, there's a warm, clubby vibe to this buzzy American eatery & bar.- Google
"Lobster mac n cheese was rich and decadent, the roasted cauliflower was cold."
"In fact...at 29, the next-youngest patron probably has 10 years on me."

Being so near to SLU, the CWE naturally abounds with college bars. Herbie's is the antidote. Classy and expensive, it's assuredly not a student hangout. In fact...at 29, the next-youngest patron probably has 10 years on me. My knowledge of haute cuisine isn't what it should be, so I found the menu fairly foreign and the service is nothing special. But the atmosphere is superb, as is the location, and on balance, those are enough to keep me coming back.

My husband and I tried Herbie's for a brunch in honor of his birthday yesterday. We were impressed by the food and cocktails/mocktails. I have to say - having actual mocktails on the menu was a very nice touch. As a mom-to-be, it's nice to have the option of a special drink w/o the booze. I appreciate that the person who fielded my reserveration request online honored my request for a quiet table as well. Each staff person was cordial and attentive (without hovering) - everyone we interacted with wished my husband a happy day, and we were even given a complimentary dessert, which made the outing all the more sweet. Thank you -- we WILL be back! :)

Pretty disappointed... staff wasn't very polished, pacing was off and our meal was just "OK". The brined chop was delicious, the flat iron steak not so much. Lobster mac n cheese was rich and decadent, the roasted cauliflower was cold :(

Herbie's Vintage 72 is one of the best restaurants in St. Louis. I love the atmosphere and the people are always so friendly and helpful there. There is nothing better than the shrimp dumplings and some chocolate fritters. <3 love them!!!

I love going to Herbie's Vintage 72 restaurant! The staff are very friendly, the drinks and wine selection are outstanding, the food is delicious and the chocolate fritters and ice cream are the BEST! Herbie's is a great place to go for lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays. If you haven't tried this restaurant wine bar and CWE hot spot you are missing out!
