I love the NVC attorney who was working at 10 o clock on a Friday evening and solved my problem. Thank you, whoever you are. Now I can enjoy the weekend

Practice tip: if someone has been out on bond forever, follow the money. Dig for the annual bond reviews with FOIA. Maybe an administrative review was forgotten before it was completed....

This poster hangs proudly next to the UC/JD and California Bar certificates on my wall.

US Embassies around the world often have information on their website about how intending immigrants can get the paperwork they need - particularly the police certificate. But the Port-au-Prince embassy didn't. Eventually I realized that people immigrate to other countries too! And Canada has the scoop on how to get the police certificate in PaP.

Lexis also helps spread the word on the online readable version of the Immigration Reform bill with the impossible name "Border Security Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act" - BSEOIMA - the #immigration #readthebill - BSEOIMA Mucho

A few months ago I was working through the #ILRC   Practice Guides and needed a better way of following all the cross references to the #INA   (the #immigration  "Immigration and Nationality Act"). So I produced the online version I needed - which includes "hoverlinks" - where you hover your cursor over a cross-reference and get a reminder of the reference in a small popup, rather than having to follow the link and break your concentration.

It also works nicely on the ipad where I can flip back and forth between the ILRC PDFs and the statute.

And now it's cross-referenced to my version of the new Senate Bill (below)

Here is an interesting combination of lawyering and software - a fully cross-referenced web version of the #immigration   reform bill "Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act (2013)"  S-744 currently in the Senate Judiciary Committee #judiciarycommittee  . Also cross referenced to my web version of the Immigration and Nationality Act (2011). No excuse now not to #readthebill  -
