Here's an easy way you can make a difference. When you're shopping at Amazon, add a smile to your URL: www.smile.amazon.com, then add Union College as the organization to receive 0.5% of every purchase. For the past few days, 24 international rescue and relief students have been training in swift water survival and rescue at the Montrose Water Sports Park on the Uncompahgre River in Montrose, Colo. They caught the attention of Montrose Press who ran this story yesterday. http://ow.ly/cqFH30c4qxm

The river training is a part a six week trip that also includes wilderness survival and rescue exercises at various locations in Western Colorado.

Union has a long history of enhancing student learning by providing opportunities to work on campus. In years past, students earned money and gained valuable life experience working on the campus farm, in a variety of industries, or possibly in the campus laundry or dining hall.

Today most students still develop leadership, creativity and problem solving skills on campus by working as ministry leaders, teaching assistants, marketers, computer technicians and much more.

This article authored by Jim McKee in the Lincoln Journal Star this week details the history of many of the campus industries that played a significant role our in the education of many of our alumni.

A huge thank-you to everyone who supported Union College during the Give to Lincoln event. Because of your generosity, our students will have updated learning environments. We raised a total of $32,925 in one day. Thank you again. We can't say it enough.
