The Championship Games of GardenTub Soccer, Feline World Wrestling AND World Class Indoor Fishing have been exceptional, folks!

Here you see Johnny and Knox Ginger-Kittens in a rare huddle and spirit of cooperation, plotting their strategy to defeat that Devious-Fish-On-A-String...

And next--in their victorious take-down in these historic, last games ever to be held in this venue!

Gosh! Hasn't this been an exciting competition?!?

Their PR Directors, Wren and Alexis Johnson, announced they are changing career directions and will be taking a well-deserved vacation (must be nice!) in Palm Coast, FL--their hometown--while considering all offers of future employment.

We know their fans join us in wishing them well--and, just a reminder--they will be making Daily Appearances at the Flagler Humane Society in Palm Coast, FL to greet all their enthusiastic fans!

Cara, I would have loved to get a pro to videotape their action-packed games...ESPN is missing out on a golden opportunity!

My daughter and I had a great month fostering these boys who were found and our Flagler Humane Society staff saved their lives, then turned them over to us 5 days later to socialize and adore.

Our elder cats were not happy with our surprise, but we muddled through!

So yesterday, before I had to take them back to FHS, I shot tons of pictures and wrote the posts to help me prepare to say FAREWELL, OUR BABY BOYS!

On this beautiful Saturday morning, here is Alexis saying so long, FAREWELL to Knox.

Alexis had to go put her Social Worker hat on at 6 am today, so I take Knox and Johnny back to our fabulous Flagler Humane Society alone... I WILL NOT CRY.

I'm praying they get adopted by deserving parents who love them as much as we do! We are so thrilled to have been able to give them a great start and now it's off to Kindergarten Boarding School.

Here's Alexis and our beloved foster kittens...(who are caged in my garden tub to sleep.) They ate their dinners and fell sound asleep immediately.

Meet our 2 tiny foster boys, Johnny and Knox! (Knox is the one with the white mittens.) They will be 1-month-old this Friday and will be up for adoption (after neutering!) soon at Flagler Humane Society in Palm Coast, FL. They are so tiny you can hold one in the palm of your hand--but in a few weeks, they'll be old enough for adoption.

FHS staff does an exceptional job, saving countless lives every year, and we are so thrilled to be fostering for them.

Kittens by the score are being dropped off right now...and there just isn't room to house and care for them in our shelters.

Please contact them if you can foster or adopt--386-445-1814.

My daughter, Alexis and I decided we HAD to volunteer to foster underage kittens NOW because the N.E. Florida "kitten season" this year has been overwhelming for all rescue and animal control groups. Remember...every reproducing female has an average of 5 kittens per litter and several litters per year. This equals HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of unwanted cats who will be euthanized every season in each county's shelters. You could save lives by fostering healthy kittens and/or adopting! Meet our first foster kittens, brothers Johnny and Knox! It feels so great that they will be wonderful pets because Flagler Humane Society saved them: cleaned them completely and medicated them. Then, we were given great food for them and the chance to POUR love over them, so they will trust the gentle folks who adopt them soon. We'll keep you updated...let's face it...these are BEAUTIFUL 4-week-old kittens...and their sweet natures will be a joy to live with!

FAIR WARNING--THIS PARK IS SO SPECIAL YOU MAY BECOME ADDICTED QUICKLY AND THEREAFTER FEEL THE UNCONTROLLABLE URGE TO RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN... I am only writing this public statement in a personal effort to be unselfish and to share my good fortune as a happy citizen in Palm Coast. Also, we have to face head on what challenges Princess Place is now battling--and will always battle in the future. You will probably LOVE this place, but only plan a visit if you: 1. Have a soul which understands tree huggers AND you brake for Armadillos. 2. Can appreciate nearly Magical Beauty in the sights and sounds of nature. 3. Can enjoy the history of Princess Place (Take the Tour! May God Bless the Princess' soul...R.I.P. What a legacy she left us all!) And finally... 4. YOU'LL HAVE A GREAT DAY IF YOU LOVE horseback-riding, hiking, kayaking, fishing or camping. Otherwise, you'll hate it and will be bored--possibly ruining it for ALL OF US who crave peaceful parks in which to think, breathe, and re-charge from our everyday stress... If you're feeling in need of deafening music, please bring your IPOD! I'm told that there are events and/or fundraisers at Princess Place sometimes--such as art fairs, live bands, etc. So far, I've never been to one--I'm sure it'll be great when I do--but they aren't frequent and are advertised. A lovely pair of Palm Coasters whom I met on my first visit in April told me not to tell many people how special this park is...that if everyone knows and starts enjoying it frequently, it will be spoiled and over-crowded. Walking their dogs, they were happy that the park's existence seemed to be a well-kept secret among nature-lovers. I said I understood why they liked the peace and quiet, but...my conscience has been bothering me ever since! EVERYONE deserves to feel magic, not just the lucky folks who have already found this park. I'm taking a leap here--I choose to believe that any newcomer who really loves wildlife and nature will protect this preserve--not allow anyone to abuse it. Plus, the Staff is always there to guard against trouble. Facing gruesome facts now--due to all the Government budget cuts, everyone who loves it will NEED to support Princess Place. The Board is going to need a whole new game plan from now on, and true community support to maintain this park in trust for our future generations to enjoy. Philanthropists who are estate planning won't leave millions to Princess Place if they aren't even aware of the damage Federal and State budget cuts will inflict on all our parks--and if they don't personally see what a gift this particular refuge is to residents of Palm Coast. All kidding aside, this is a jewel in Palm Coast we should all treasure and protect. I hope you come to share my recent discovery and will find some magic for yourselves at Princess Place. Cheers, Wren
