Facebook users don't realize that they're broadcasting what they read.

+Ryan Chittum wrote a piece for the Columbia Journalism Review demonstrating that his own friends don't always realize that they're sharing on Facebook what they read.

Social news apps on Facebook typically broadcast the titles of articles users read.

For example, one married friend auto-shared with all his Facebook friends that he or she read an article titled:

"When It’s Just Another Fight, and When It’s Over: A new type of therapy helps struggling couples decide whether to divorce or remain married."
