Forever ingrained in my tastebud memory..
I feel like San Gabriel Valley, with its streets dotted with Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, and maybe English signs, is not like most of the rest of America. In addition to having good Mexican and Chinese food whenever we wanted, we also had a good d...

Some History and an Update
When I first started this site, it was to document pictures of the food that I had made, because I had this "problem" (depends on how you look at it) of forgetting dishes that were in my repertoire. When people found out that I liked to cook, they would ask...

Taiwan Eats Part IV of V: Luodong, Yilan and Jiaoxi
After Hualien, we took the TRA (台鐵) to Yilan, then transferred to get to Jiaoxi. This was a mistake..we should have just taken it all the way to Jiaoxi where we were staying at Ataya Xiang Bed and Breakfast (which is more of a guest house, or 名宿), but I did...

This review is for the market- the owner (wife) is super nice and very helpful if you have a question about where to find certain items. The layout may not be as flashy, but I've always been super happy with the quality of produce I get. They seem to take great care to make sure only good produce is on the shelves. I also appreciate that all of their frozen meats and fish in the back freezers are labeled with the dates that they were packed! Very nice. It would be great if they could carry large taro and not just the small taro, as I much prefer the large taro! : )
