Take a look at the exclusive behind the scenes diary of Emeraude Toubia at the Latin American Music awards shot by Katya Tsyganova for byrdie.com:

As much as we like to focus on the final looks that grace the red carpet, we’re also all too aware of the incredible time and effort that goes into every single getup—not to mention the team of people behind it. If you include facials and other preparatory treatments, it’s technically even a multi-day process.

But the final result? So, so worth it. Exhibit A: Rising star Emeraude Toubia, who you might know from her role as Isabelle in Freeform’s Shadowhunters. The actress invited Byrdie behind the scenes last week as she got glammed up for the Latin American Music Awards—documenting everything from hair to makeup to final look as she went. With the help of makeup artist Patrick Ta and hairstylist Andrew Zepeda, Toubia and her glam team whipped up the perfect head-turning ensemble. Keep reading to see how it all came together, step by step.

“For makeup, I worked with Patrick Ta for this look and loved the tones he used on me.”

“I wanted to translate the nude color of my dress to my make up look too. You can never go wrong with the monochromatic, glow look!”

“Andrew Zepeda has started his magic on my hair and Patrick started testing some lip colors for the final look.”

Love her highlight? Patrick Ta is a fan of Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector ($38).

“We decided to do a little less of a blowout and more of a tousled, messy look. Starting with the curls and gently tousling them as Andrew put final touches on it. ”
