Always worth rewatching - Patrick Winston (at MIT) giving his class "How to Speak" lecture. Anyone who presents as part of their work or volunteer efforts (i.e., all of you) should watch it.

RIP Twitter (2006-2011). We hrdly nu u.

When Google+ can do everything Twitter can do (but Twitter can't do all G+ can do) and when everyone who's on Twitter is on G+ (but not the other way around), I just don't see how Twitter can survive.
All of a sudden, Twitter is unnecessary, outdated, overvalued and headed for the ash heap of abandoned social services. It has been rendered obsolete by Google+, writes columnist Mike Elgan.

Wow! very interesting read. However... I think that Twitter has and will continue to be an essential tool in broadcasting unfiltered news from anyone around the world in time of crisis: e.g., the Arab spring and Japan Tsunami. In both instances, I got the very latest emergency news from Twitter and no one else. I am not sure Google+ will replace this aspect of Twitter anytime soon. I do think it's possible that Google may eventually purchase Twitter and continue to offer real time news to the world and embed it in real-time search.

+Mauricio Karchmer Yes, that would be quite the turnabout. Ballmer's really done a remarkable job in 10 years.

Umm, google, if I search for "+", guess where I'm trying to go??

I'm thinking a boolean operator does not make an effective search term. :-)

Thanks to +Caroline McCarthy I got a tour of Google's brand new Library today, which is equipped with an interactive wall, which allows you to search for books, scan them with your phone and then downloaded them. Super awesome!

Is there a reason that Facebook, Twitter, and G+ do not provide a visual indicator on streams of the dividing line between what has arrived since your last viewing?

or is it in a color that i can't see....

Yeah I get that with Twittelator (sadly not shared between iphone and ipad). but I must be missing some important reason the web clients aren't doing it b/c it's trivial to implement if you only do it on a per machine basis. Might be ten lines of jQuery at most....
