It was really awesome walking into class knowing that we were going to be building Lego. Mmm what probably made it even more awesome was watching how fast some of you were. I mean, there some of you were chattering to me about this and the next moment, "Ms Huang, taadaa look!"

Happiness was being able to be a part of your laughter, your conversations and moments. Pride was watching all of you perform your part on stage to create that bigger tapestry and taking it in stride by stride. Thank you for always bringing me so much joy and being more than you can ever imagine.

I cherish how our department sat together as a team and came up with the term "Transforming Thinking, Advocating Authorship" to epitomize the heart of what we do in Humanities. I cherish us.

It's true anyway, isn't it? Everything we see today, from trade to international diplomacy to culture & religion for instance, is a result of yesteryears. This conception or intellect is liken the clay, the students, the potter and the teacher, the master potter. The master potter guides the potter in molding his piece of clay so that the potter can use it well in the come what may of life to author the many chapters ahead.

Happiness for the moment was watching them engage the parents, shine in the way they stood tall stood proud and share about the Humanities at SST.

Was it the British inapt or the Japanese superiority that led to the fall of Singapore? As my military history professor, Brian Farrell, would always say, "The complexities of a soldier, we will never comprehend." And I will always wonder whether the battle of Jitra determined it all and why they did not hold their ground at Kampar, especially when it was high ground. I dare not imagine being the man-on-the-spot at that point in history and caught in the middle of politics and grand strategies. I hope that through the discussions we share in class, you will realize that there are always a few sides to a story and more often than not, these sides are so closely inter-linked that we can barely delineate them apart.

Happiness for the moment was watching and hearing them share their views. The discussion here was about Communism and Democracy.
