With all this talk about senior pets this month, we also wanted to discuss pain signals in both dogs and cats. Identifying pain can be tricky, especially in older pets. In dogs you want to keep your eye out for trouble getting up and down, or just overall slowing down. In cats you want to look for discomfort when petting, sleeping more, and even weight loss. There are many medications available to help your pet feel better, so don't hesitate to give us a call if you notice any of the following signs or just feel that something may be "off" with your pet!

During the cold winter months cats will often seek out any warm space they can find. One particularly irresistible lure seems to be the cozy confines of a warm car engine. Unfortunately, cats that seek shelter under the hoods of cars can then be injured or killed when that car is started. Help keep your own and your neighborhood cats safe this winter by following the tips in this article:http://ow.ly/iAoi30mv7CC

Thanksgiving is a special holiday that brings together family and friends, but it also can carry some hazards for pets. Holiday food needs to be kept away from pets, and pet owners who travel need to either transport their pets safely or find safe accommodations for them at home. For more information on Thanksgiving safety: http://ow.ly/DLq830mx6hs We hope you have a wonderful day!
