Pinterest is beoming a force in social media. In the US, 80% of the users are women. While in countries like the UK, most users are men. The idea is to post a picture and then link the picture to go somewhere, like your website. If you don't provide a link, Pinterest will add one to your photo. This is how Pinterest is making money with referral and affliate links. Also, Pinterest contest are becoming popular too.

I used to give executive briefings and I worked for several CEOs. One thing I learned is people, who are responsible for a diverse set of work, want the information condensed down and perferrably verbal. One CEO said to never give him anything unless it fit on one 8x10 sheet of paper. He told a funny story about how one manager gave him a 75 page report on why he needed to buy a single piece of equipment. It's why people like video - short, verbal way to get what they want. It why people attend workshop - they want the information they need as quickly as possible.

Sales in the Internet Age - Customers no longer need a sales person to learn about the company's offerings, much less to take an order. As a result of customers doing an Internet search as a first step, sales has become more about helping customers define the problem they are trying to solve and assemble the solution.

On sales ... potential customers want to buy your product, people want to buy solutions to their problems. People don't want to be sold.  PeoplIe don't want a vendor trying to get them to buy a product when it won't solve their problem. So don't fell awkward telling others about your product if it can help them How would you feel if someone had the solution to your problem but didn't tell you? Wouldn't you want someone to tell you the answer? This is what sales is all about, so don't dread sales.
