Dear Pat, I am very glad to hear that you knew Bink Noll.  Please understand I was not meaning to make fun of his name.  Far from it.  My name is like his, short, pithy and evocative.  I get teased a lot as Todd Swift.  And I too am a college teacher and poet.  It is bittersweet to reflect upon how few of us university poets ever actually become "famous" as decades pass, but our names and poems stay on, living, in books. It is very moving to me you have reached out in this way to paint a living if brief portrait of this extraordinary, talented, man.  If you wish to write a longer reflective piece for the blog, I would be happy to post it.  Perhaps we could include a few of his poems, and a photo, and try to get new readers for your friend.

Hi Paul, thank you for that point.  I agree that at my university communication about the process has been poor.  I requested feedback in writing several times as to why my work had been ranked below a 3, and there was a refusal to say more.  Nor were any of us informed personally, nor were discussions offered.  It was just with a form letter.  In my case, as I had been on sick leave, and also have a disability, I did not require 4 outputs - though, as a matter of fact, I had them in four books - let alone published articles and critical essays.
