Deron G. Grabel is the Academic Program Manager for the Sport Management Program offered through The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University. He has been an instrumental part of the transition from the sport management concentration into a full-time degree program. In addition to managing the program and advising sport management students, Grabel has helped many students land high-level internship positions.
As a seasoned public speaker, Grabel has given several presentations on the topic of Sport Management, including one entitled, Service Learning in a Sport Management Course, which was given at the 2010 North American Society for Sport Management (NAASM) Conference. He presented his findings from a project designed to facilitate interaction between Sport Management majors, local elementary school age children, and the university athletic department.
In addition to his speaking engagements, Grabel has published two case studies in The Sport Journal: Sport Management Education: The Case for Two-Year Colleges, and A Secret Shopper Project: Reevaluation of Relationship Marketing Among the Four Big Leagues.
Grabel holds a master’s degree in Recreation Administration from Lehman College as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Springfield College. He also holds an ABD in Sport Administration from the United States Sports Academy.
