Reflections of Provo Canyon
Some of you may recognize this photograph. Google uses it in Safari on iOS as a landing page for Google+ links. Not sure about Android - maybe there as well?
I was sharing it with someone today and just realized that I don't think I actually ever shared it on Google+. So here's a quick background.
I took this picture back in 2010 while I was on a work trip to Utah. After day's work and on my way to the airport, I stopped by at the north end of Utah Lake - somewhere near Saratoga Springs. It was December, so there was hardly anyone around and the water was very still. In the background is Orem and Provo and BYU campus where I went to school for four years. The mountain is Mount Timpanogos, which I hiked a couple of times to the top.
Utah Lake is a natural fresh water lake that's connected to the Salt Lake via Jordan River and is a remnant of a much larger prehistoric Lake Bonneville which covered a good portion of Utah thousands of years ago.
Still one of my favorite sunsets I ever photographed.
