With abundant humpback whale sightings off Maui in recent weeks, the nonprofit Pacific Whale Foundation is looking ahead to a busy whale season, which includes hosting the annual Maui Whale Festival.  The Maui Whale Festival includes more than 15 signature events, plus free exhibits and talks, plus special "Trail of the Whale" locations where professional naturalists will offer free information and guidance on watching whales from shore.

The 21st Annual East Maui Taro Festival will take place April 20 & 21, 2013 at the Hana Ballpark. The Taro Security and Purity Task Force will be hosting the first neighbor island Queen's Challenge taro contest this year on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 at the East Maui Taro Festival.

The 12th Annual Maui Matsuri is a free admission event to the public produced by a Volunteer Team and located on the University of Hawai’i-Maui College campus in Kahului, Maui. They had over 10,000 attendees to the 2011 Festival! The 12th Annual Maui Matsuri Festival will take place on Friday, May 11th & Sunday, May 12th, 2012.
